Off the Booze and On the Ball.

On Saturday morning last, the remainder of our participants completed the fun run. While the competitive aspect of the initiative was not the primary concern,  honourable mention must go to Paddy Mc Dermott who showed a clean pair of heels to his pursuers. In the process Paddy has set a time for future groups to try and beat. The organisation of the event was excellent with the water stations and distance markers welcomed by all. Sponsorship monies will be totted up in the coming weeks and hopefully all, including the club, will have benefited from the initiative. It is expected that this will become an annual event. Well done to all concerned.

Membership.

Club membership is now due. For 2012, membership fees will remain at €20 for an adult, €40 for a family (2 adults plus school children) and €10 for a student. Committee members will be in touch with all our outgoing members in the near future.

Sponsorship Signs.

New signs are presently being commissioned and erected at the pitch to acknowledge our sponsors. If you would like to or know of any business who would like to be recognised in this way, please contact any committee member.

John P Graham.

At the most recent county committee meeting John P Graham, Killevan, stepped away from formal committee involvement in County Monaghan GAA matters. An administrator of the highest calibre, J. P.(as we all know him) has served Monaghan GAA in many capacities down through the years. It is not the intention here to recount all his achievements but it would be remiss of Currin GFC not to congratulate and thank him for all his efforts on our behalf during his time on ‘the county board’. There is no doubt that J.P. despite his retirement will not be far away from all that is good in the GAA.

Juvenile and Youth Affairs.

Training for the young players will begin on Saturday 18th February on the pitch. Ciaran Kierans and Mary Mc Entee will be in contact with everyone prior to this date. All parents are welcome and encouraged to come and help out – no one will be turned away.
