Our Blues Competitive Games in the past week
Senior Men – Ulster Senior Championship
Our Senior Men commence their Ulster Campaign on Sunday 12th November in the Quarter Final of the Ulster Senior Championship. They will play either Derrygonnelly or Kilcoo who face each other in Enniskillen this Sunday 5th November at 3:45pm in the preliminary round. If Derrygonnelly win, Scotstown will play them in Clones on 12th November. If Kilcoo win, Scotstown will play them in Newry on 12th November. We wish our senior team and management the very best in their Ulster campaign.
Senior Ladies
Our Senior Ladies had no games in the past week. Their Round 6 game against Emyvale at home for Sunday last was cancelled in the Senior LGFA Division 1 League as Emyvale conceded and Scotstown were awarded the points. They next play Truagh away this Sunday 5th November at 11:00am in the Senior LGFA Division 1 League Round 1 game.
Under 18 Girls – Minor Division 1 Championship Final
Our Under 18 were in the Minor LGFA Division 1 Championship Final where they faced Carrickmacross in Drumhowan on Saturday last in the Under 18 Division 1 Championship Final. Hard luck and commiserations to the girls in their defeat to a strong Carrickmacross side. Well done on reaching the Championship final, and a great second half performance, with 3 superb goals. Congratulations to Carrickmacross on winning the championship and all the best in their Ulster campaign. Thanks to Drumhowan GAA for hosting the final.
Under 14 Girls – Under 14 Division 3 Championship Final
Our Under 14 B team played Truagh in the final of the Under 14 Division 3 Championship in Killeevan on Saturday last. Hard luck to the team and management in their 3-6 to 2-6 defeat. The girls made a superb, spirited comeback from 10 points down, but unfortunately time ran out as they pressed for the equalising goal in the final minutes of normal time. Well done on making the final. Congratulations to Truagh Ladies and many thanks to Killeevan for hosting the final.
Our Blues Upcoming Competitive Fixtures
On Sunday 5th November our Senior Ladies play Truagh away in Round 1 of the LGFA Senior Football League at 11:00am.
On Sunday 12th November our Senior Men play either Derrygonnelly or Kilcoo in the Quarter Final of the Ulster Senior Championship in either Clones or Newry. Time TBC

Scotstown GAA Online Club Lotto – Jackpot €12,200!!
Thanks to everyone involved in our online lotto draw for a €12,200 jackpot on Wednesday 1st November. Please see our Social Media platforms for more details of the results.
In the October 25th draw there was no Jackpot winner. Numbers drawn on the night were 2, 12, 16, 19. There was 1 Match 3 Winner of €100 – Aine McKenna. We had 3 Lucky Dip winners who win €20 each – Martin Byrne, Pauric Garvey and Pauline Keenan. Congratulations to all our winners! The Scotstown GAA online Lotto Draw takes place every Wednesday at 8:30pm with last entries at 8pm. The draw is conducted on-line and is fully automated using secure facilities. There are 4 numbers to choose from a range of 1 to 31. Match the 4 numbers to win the Jackpot of €12,400. If no jackpot winner €200 is rolled over to the following week. Also if there is no jackpot winner there will be lucky dips. Next draw is Wednesday November 8th at 8:30pm.
Ciste Draw
Congratulations to Kathleen O’Brien, Emyvale our €1,000 October Ciste winner! Also congratulations to our 5 x €100 winners; Jack McDevitt, Gavin McPhillips, Austin Corrigan, Andrew Murray, and Begley Family Sellers Prize Michael Owen McMahon & Tommy McMahon. You can purchase your Ciste tickets in our local shops. There are tickets, envelopes and collection boxes in each of these shops; McMahon Centra, Scotstown; McAloons Knockatallon; XL Ballinode & Killylough. You can also purchase your Ciste tickets using the Scotstown Clubforce website and clicking on ‘buy event tickets’ link. First prize €1,000 and 5 prizes of €100 must be won. In total €18,000 in prize money is won every year!
Paint the Parish Blue!
Many thanks to all those involved in putting the flags and bunting up around in the villages of the parish. Well done on a great job making the villages looking fantastic. Our Senior men commence their Ulster campaign on November 12th. So please if you already haven’t already, get all you’re An Bhoth flags and paraphernalia out and Paint the Parish Blue!

Pat Meehan Memorial Shield
Congratulations to our Scotstown U12 team who won the Pat Meehan Memorial Shield in St Mellan’s Truagh on Saturday last beating a strong Clontibret O’Neills GAA team in the final 6-5. Thanks to everyone in Truagh Gaels for inviting us to this well-run tournament. All the boys had a brilliant day.

Health and Wellbeing – GAA For All Training
Scotstown GAA Health and Wellbeing are working in collaboration with Truagh Gaels & Emyvale GAA Club to form a GAA for All juvenile team. This is football training specifically aimed at children with Additional Needs. GAA for All will kick off for a 4 week block on Saturday 4th Nov at St. Mellan’s GAA Park in Truagh Please contact Geraldine on 087 4269650 for further information or to register your child. Or if you are aware of a family that may be interested from the north Monaghan area please pass this information on. This is part of our Healthy Club initiative. Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others
Gaelic For Mothers & others outdoor training has ended for the year and training will be indoors from now on. All welcome to come along. Well done to everyone involved in the superb blitz that took place in Eskra on Saturday last. G4MO is a great way to meet new ladies and catch up with a bit of fun. As there is no competition for the group there is no pressure to attend
every week. You can join in at any stage and come when it suits you. You need to be over 25 and living in the parish. Why not come all and give it a go!!
