Seniors

Our seniors won their last league match against table toppers Inniskeen on Saturday night. (1-11) v (1-12) An excellent display from the team who fought their way back into the game after going behind early on. Killian Rudden pointed a difficult mark at the end to give a one point win with the games last kick.

A number of results needed to go our way to escape the regulation play off. In the end Magheracloone finished 7th, tied with Corduff and Ballybay who escaped the regulation playoff as they had a better scoring difference.

The next match is against Scotstown with Turagh v Aughnamullen in the other playoff game.

Let’s hope Monaghan will have an All Ireland final to look forward to after Saturday.

Monaghan Minors

Hard luck to our Monaghan minors who were beaten by a better Derry team on Saturday in the All Ireland Minor final. Some excellent individual performances on the day and plenty of reasons to believe talent will come through into the senior team over the coming years

U13

The U13 brought home the first two cup wins of the year.

Firstly on a very wet Thursday evening in Castleblaney, the Magheracloone C team beat Clontibret to win the D6 League Final. Magheracloone controlled the game from start to finish and once they played with the wind in the 2nd half, Clontibret were easily outscored with excellent team play and score taking.

On Saturday our B’s beat Inniskeen B on a sunny Saturday morning in Kilanny. The game was a tight match with Inniskeen coming from behind to bring the game to extra time.  Magheracloone pushed on in extra time, resulting in a well deserved win in the end with a gutsy team performance.

Congrats to all the team and management on the win’s.

Next up is the Div 1 U13 league final.
