Monaghan Harps notes

Monaghan Harps Lotto: Numbers 15, 16, 20 and 21. Jackpot of €3,600 not won. Jackpot for Sunday, January 14 is €3,700 and Mary and Fergus Coyle are on duty. Lotto draw takes place in our clubhouse every Sunday night. All welcome. Thanks to everyone for their support for our Lotto, which plays a critical role in our club’s funding. We ask all club members to continue to promote our Lotto as much as possible throughout 2018 and beyond.

 

Meetings: The club’s first monthly meetings of 2018 take place this evening (Thursday) in the clubhouse: juvenile at 7pm, senior at 8.

 

Charity match: All funds raised from our annual New Year’s Day charity match will go to a local charity/charities to be named soon. Please leave any sponsorship forms still to be returned into the clubhouse or to the organisers by this Sunday, January 14.

 

Sponsor a Seat: To celebrate and promote the continued development of our facilities at Gavan Duffy Park, we are offering the unique opportunity to sponsor/dedicate a seat in our stand at a cost of €50. Club Draw: The GAA’s National Club Draw is back for 2018, offering great prizes including a Renault Dynamique. Books of tickets are available now from Club Treasurer Dermot Coyle (086 0734098). All support appreciated.

 

Half-zips: Due to the huge volume of interest in the new half-zip, we have decided to put in one last order. Please let Úna Forde know before tomorrow (Friday) if you want to make an order. Prices: Kids €30; Adults €45.

 

Dates to remember: Our juvenile presentation night is set for Friday, January 26. Monaghan Arch Club will return to Gavan Duffy Park for their annual visit on Thursday, February 15.

 

Scór: Scór Sinsir takes place at the end of February. Anybody wishing to participate in or help out with Instrumental Music, Ballad Group, Solo Singing, Recitation, Dancing or Stage Presentation is asked to contact our Cultural Officer Joe Ó Gallchóir at 086 3048242. The Scór Quiz for Under-17 and Over-17 takes place in a table-quiz format in late January. The club hopes to enter a team in both sections. If you are willing to be part of a four-person team, please contact Joe.

 

Membership: Registration fees for 2018 can now be paid to club registrar Kevin Treanor or in the clubhouse.

 

Sympathy: The club sends sympathy to Dónal Sherry and family on the death of his brother, Michael.

 

Coaching: There are several upcoming coach education courses in Cloghan. See monaghangaa.ie for more details.

 

Yearbook: The Monaghan GAA Yearbook is available now at a cost of €10 and gives a full review of 2017 for club and county.

 

Operation Transformation Walk: This takes place along the Monaghan Greenway this Saturday, January 13, at 11am, with registration at our complex from 10.30am.

 

Gavan Duffy Park: The refurbished Monaghan Harps clubhouse is available to book for functions. Contact Jimmy Croarkin on 087 1249635 or Pádraig Callan on 087 2543511 for more information. Anyone looking to book the clubhouse for meetings, functions, etc. is asked to please give a week’s notice for convenience. Please note that our pitches are now closed until further notice.
