Golf Classic: Thanks to everyone involved in our 2016 Golf Classic. See full details and photos online.

Seniors: Our senior footballers have a star game at home to Magheracloone this Sunday at 12pm. Please note earlier throw-in time.

Reserves: We lost away to Clones in the RFL Division Three last Wednesday. It was again a much-changed team for a disappointing game that saw us trail by 0-8 to 0-3 at half-time and end up losing out by 1-15 to 0-6.

Team and scorers: Johnny Sherry; Daniel Kelly, Turlough Clerkin, Aidan Burns; Conor Forde, Robbie Moyna (Capt.), Carl Foentjies; Paul Rushe, Remy McKenna; Kyle O’Leary, Dylan McKenna, Colm Shalvey; Conor Callan, Ben Kearns-Flynn, David Carey.

Subs: Darragh Hannon for Sherry, Dessie McGarry for Kearns-Flynn, Johnny Sherry for Kelly.

We were at home to Latton in Division 1A on Sunday. Points by Éimhín Morahan and Dean Fanning were our only scores of the first half, while Latton scored two goals to take charge. We closed the gap after the restart, with a Cónall McKenna goal helping to take us within four points, but Latton pulled away in the closing stages to win by 3-12 to 1-7.

Team: Darragh Hannon; Ahmed Gamal, Niall Treanor, Paul Smyth; Mustafa Gamal, Aodhán Óg McAnespie, Conor Forde; Éimhín Morahan (Capt.), Evan Doherty; Niall Greenan, Colm Shalvey, Dean Fanning; John Treanor, Cónall McKenna, David Carey.

Sub: Dónal McCarthy for Carey.

We host Killanny in the RFL Division Three next Wednesday at 8pm.

U-16: Our Under-16s resume their league campaign after the exam break next Thursday (June 30) away to Aughnamullen.

U-14: Our Under-14 Division Five team qualified for the championship final with a one-point win away to Carrickmacross on Monday evening. Scores by Shay Cooney and Adam McGarry got us off to a good start, while Jamie Coyle and Daragh Croarkin added points, but Carrick rallied to tie things up before half-time. The teams continued to trade scores throughout the second half, but some excellent scores by Shay and Adam and some great work around the field earned us a 4-9 to 2-14 win. We will play Donaghmoyne in the final; keep an eye on club notes and online for details.

Team and scorers: Ben Myers; Cathal Nally, James Curley; Kevin Moran, Daragh Croarkin (0-1), Mark McManus; Brian McAteer (Capt.), Mike Bradley; Dáire Sheridan, Adam McGarry (1-3), Jake Power; Shay Cooney (3-4, 0-1 ’45), Jamie Coyle (0-1).

Our Division One game against Emyvale was postponed. Our U-14s travel to Portlaoise for a regional Féile this Saturday.

U-12: Our two Under-12 teams travelled to Carrickmacross last Friday evening.

Our Division One team again came from behind to claim an exciting win. Carrick were in front at half-time, but our lads rallied strongly to win by 8-8 to 4-12. Fionán Ó Gallchóir led the scoring, with Jamie Cooney, Seán Callan Luke McManus and Shea Swift also chipping in and a number of substitutes making important contributions.

Team and scorers: Ethan Ballantine; Patrick Dooley-Duffy, Scarlett Herron; Seán Callan (0-1), Cian Bradley; Michael McMorrow, Jake McConnon; Josh Kelly, Luke McManus (0-1); Senan Cudden, Fionán Ó Gallchóir (6-5).

Subs used: Shea Swift (0-1), Jamie Cooney (2-0), Mark Clerkin, Dáire Conlon, Morgan Coyle, Jordan Crampton, Aidan Cunningham, Gary Devlin, Jack Lynch, Max Mallen, Liam McCabe, Aidan McGeough, Shane Moran, Gregory O’Connell, Oisín Treanor.

Our Division Five team fell short against a strong Carrick side. Senan Cudden, Josh Kelly, Mark Clerkin, Oisín Treanor, Gary Devlin and Liam McCabe were on target, but Carrick proved too strong over the course of the game.

Team and scorers: Senan Cudden (1-1); Max Mallen, Jordan Crampton; Shane Moran, Mark Clerkin (0-1); Jack Lynch, Josh Kelly (0-2); Oisín Treanor (0-1), Gary Devlin (0-1); Liam McCabe (0-1), Aidan McGeough.

Subs used: Ethan Ballantine, Patrick Dooley-Duffy, Fionán Ó Gallchóir, Dáire Conlon, Morgan Coyle, Aidan Cunningham, Gregory O’Connell.

Both teams are away to Scotstown this Saturday: Division One at 12 noon, Division Five at 1.15.

Hurling:

Juveniles: Training & games for all juvenile age groups continues every Sunday at 12pm in Rooskey. Anyone interested in bringing along their child or indeed helping out with the games coaching, then please contact the Monaghan Harps Hurling Facebook page.

U-12s: Monday’s fixture against Keady was called off. We are next away to Cootehill on Monday, June 27 at 7.30pm. Other upcoming fixtures: Monday, July 4: v Castleblayney (H), 11: v Clontibret (A), 18: v Truagh (H), 25: v Carrickmacross (H).

Cumann na mBunscol Div. 1 Hurling Final: Hard luck to the St Mary’s BNS squad on their loss to Castleblayney last Wednesday. It wasn’t to be three in a row for the hurlers on the hill as a strong first-half performance from Blayney left too much for the Monaghan side to do and Castleblayney finished deserving 2-10 to 2-3 winners.

U-14s: We play Truagh in the League Shield Final with the venue and time yet to be confirmed. Keep an eye on the Monaghan Harps Hurling Facebook page for updates.

Senior: We play either Truagh or Clontibret in the championship semi-final on July 21.
