Blackhill Notes

Dr. Ward Cup: Blackhill overcame a half time deficit to get their league campaign off to a winning start last Sunday afternoon in Aghabog. Final score Aghabog 2-08 Blackhill 2-12. 2nd half goals from Ciaran Courtney and Darren Woods making the difference. Next match is at home to Oram on Sunday (17th) at 2.30pm.

Reserves: Next league fixture is now fixed for Wednesday 20th April at 7:15pm at home to Drumhowan. Crawley Cup quarter final against Doohamlet is on Saturday 30th April.

Under 8s: Are participating in a blitz hosted by Oram on Saturday (16th) between 10am – 12pm. They will face teams from Oram, Corduff, Toome, Doohamlet and Aughnamullen. Best of luck to all children involved.

County Matters: The very best of luck to the Monaghan Under 21s who take on Cork on Saturday evening in the All Ireland Semi Final in Tullamore at 4.30pm. This game will also be aired on TG4. Also, the GAA is planning a special event to mark the centenary of the 1916 Rising. Following the Division One and Two Allianz Football League Finals at Croke Park on Sunday April 24, they will present a show that will commemorate the Rising, the Proclamation, the story of Gaelic Games and the GAA’s role since 1916. The show will incorporate large-scale innovative theatre, dance, song, poetry and pageantry. Tickets are on sale for any person interested.

Annual Mass: Our annual Mass will take place on Monday the 18th April at 8pm. The Mass is especially dedicated to those friends who passed on through the last year. Mass will be followed by refreshments with everybody most welcome.

Months Memory Mass: For former player Brian Mc Bride in St. Mary’s, Blayney, at 7pm on 23rd April.
