Doohamlet Notes

September 22nd, 2015

Mc Elvaney’s Waste & Recyclng IFC

We made the short journey to Clontibret on Saturday to take on our neighbours Cremartin for a place in this years Intermediate final. Cremartin started brightly but couldn’t convert the few chances they had. Barry Mc Bennett opened the scoring for us in the 5th minute, Barry Mc Ginn converted a free in the 6th minute and then a fine goal by Johnny Duffy in the 15th minute left us 1-2 to 0-0 in the good. Cremartin responded with 3 points of their own, another point from Barry Mc Bennett in the 27th minute left the scoreline at half time 1-3 to 0-3. Doohamlet were a different team in the second half and within the first 8 minutes we were in a comfortable position thanks to goals from Jamie Walshe and Darren Connolly that set the tone for the second half where Doohamlet totally dominated in all quaters. Doohamlet pushed on with fine points by Barry Mc Bennett, Barry Mc Ginn and Darren Connolly, a late surge by Cremartin  left 4 points difference between the teams at the final whistle. It finished Doohamlet 3-7 Cremartin 1-9.  So now we are where we set out to be when we started the year in the championship final where we take on Carrickmacross on the 11th October. A few exciting weeks ahead.
