SHALOTTO

There was no winner of the Shalotto held in Atkinson’s Shamrock Bar on the 9th August 2015.  Numbers Drawn were 3,4,7,15.  Lucky Dip Winners: Laura Mc Eneaney C/O Dean Carragher; Brendan Carragher, Tonagh; Caoláin Odhrán and Erin Boylan C/O Syl Mulligan; Adrian McGinnity, Avelbane; Deirdre McVicar.  This weekend’s Jackpot is €6,200 and our draw will take place in the Social Club on Sunday evening next. You may join the Annual Shalotto Scheme by contacting any member of the Club Committee.

PLEASE NOTE: ALL Shalotto tickets must be handed in by 9.30 p.m. every Sunday evening to ensure that they go into the draw.

U-12 FOOTBALL LEAGUE DIVISION 2 WINNERS!

Congratulations to our U12 team who became Div 2 Tom Reilly Cup Champions on Sunday beating Latton in what has to be one of the most exciting and impressive games of football all summer. The team coached by Frankie Branigan, Enda Corr, Shaun Buckley, Ciaran Hanley and Mickey Morgan have had an impressive season remaining unbeaten in the League

A large crowd of supporters from both sides travelled to Aughnamullen and were treated to an inspiring and exciting game of skill and good sportsmanship by a team that has worked very hard in the lead up to this final. Their hard work, commitment and determination paid off when they ran out winners with a score line of 10-9 to 5-12.

A huge thanks to Keith Shortt from Shortt Butchers for sponsoring this team, Declan McCarville from Today Local for supplying water all season, to Brendan McNally (Acorn), Brendan Mooney (BNM Milk Hauliers) and Seamus Eccles Car Sales and Repairs for sponsoring the meal and refreshments for the team and parents afterwards in the hall. New Juvenile Goals

We also would like to acknowledge our thanks and gratitude to the Environmental Section of Monaghan County Council who have sponsored a new set of juvenile goals. This was in response to a recycle initiative where the club collected plastic bottles and cans at Shamrock Park

 

JUVENILES

U-6s, U-8s and U-10s continues Friday evenings from 6.30 – 7.30 p.m.

 

INTERMEDIATE LEAUGE UPDATE:

Our Seniors were back in action last Friday night with a home game against Aughnamullen.  Despite a strong first half in which we were leading by six points at half time, we ended up being defeated on a scoreline of Cremartin 1-10 Aughnamullen 1-13.  Team and scores: Damien Lavelle, John Leonard, Fergal Mulligan, Ronan Burke, Barry Kerr, Conor Mulligan, Kevin Atkinson (1-1), Niall Flanagan (0-1), Mark Magee, Shane Mulligan, Barry Carragher, Declan Mulligan, Ryan McVicar (0-2), Johnny McGuigan (0-1) and Patrick McNally (0-3).  Subs: Kevin McVicar (0-1) for Ronan Burke, Philip McGuigan (0-1) for Declan Mulligan and Darren Bishop for Conor Mulligan.

 

All Ireland SFC:

Hard Luck to our Monaghan Senior Football and Management Team who bowed out of the All Ireland SFC last Saturday.  However it has been a great and very memorable 2015 for all Monaghan GAA supporters and we wish the Monaghan camp all the best for 2016.

The club also would like to thank Micheal McGuigan for organising the bus to Croke Park on Saturday.

 

‘HIT THE DIFF’ live in Croke Park!

 

How one man and his guitar entertained thousands…..

History was made last Saturday afternoon as our own Marty Mone performed and entertained his sensational hit ‘Hit the Diff’ live to thousands in Croke Park at half time. A truly incredible performance and Marty received an unforgettable reaction from the crowd. Heartiest congratulations and Well Done Marty from a very proud Cremartin GAA Club!

 

MONAGHAN LADIES:

Well Done to Muireann Atkinson and the Monaghan Ladies who had a great win  against Cavan on Saturday and now play Dublin in the next round.

 

 

WEDDING BELLS

Congratulations to Sinead McVicar and Michael Brennan who got married last weekend.  Wishing them many years of happiness together.
