‘WCB’   Boxing Fundraiser Update

Last Friday night, to a packed house, our boxing goddess’ stripped to their under garments to tackle the scales for the much anticipated weigh in. Northern Sounds, Sean Mc Caffery hosted the event and all the competitors were introduced individually to the adoring crowd. Although our boxing trainer, Fergal Mc Kenna, remains tight lipped about the eventual pairings on the night the unprecedented interest shown by the contenders in each others body mass could only be compared with a Miss World competition. However the tiaras and high heels will not be on show on the 14th March, at least not until the end of the night. Training is now at full tilt with all boxers edging towards supreme condition for the biggest boxing event since the rumble in the jungle. The commitment by each and every player is remarkable and should be acknowledged with a full house on the night from all corners of the parish and beyond.  Please note that band of sellers are braving the elements to bring tickets to your area for the main event. All tickets bought will be entered for a draw on the night and a cash prize so if you cannot attend please buy a ticket and you are still in with a chance of a prize. Tickets are priced at €10 . Anyone wishing to sponsor a boxer on the night, for cost of €50, can contact any member of the committee.
