Seniors: The holiday break is currently on for senior fixtures, with our next SFL game currently set for Sunday week, July 13.

Reserves: Our McKeown Cup team get back to league duty with a home game against Aghabog next Wednesday. The RFL Division 1A game against Latton has been rescheduled for July 16.

U-21: The Under-21 Football League will take place over three Fridays this month; starting with a home game against Truagh next week (July 11).

Minors: The Minor Football League will resume next Tuesday (July 8) with a home game against St. Patrick’s.

U-16: Our Under-16 footballers returned to league action with a 3-11 to 3-10 win at home to Scotstown last Thursday. Our lads led for most of the match and although Scotstown rallied in the closing stages, the Harps held on for an important two points. The U-16s are away to Clontibret this Thursday.

Team: Dylan McAree; Ultan O’Rourke, Cathal Power, Thomas Croarkin; Niall McManus, Jamie Shields, Niall Ward; Ben Kearns-Flynn, Paul Peppard; Nathan O’Donoghue, Shane McMahon, Remy McKenna; Jack Deery, Ethan Murphy, Conor Duffy.

Subs used: Dylan Duffy, Aidan Burns.

U-14: The U-14 Division One team had two games in a busy week. Scores by the likes of Conor McCrystal and Corey McArdle kept the Harps in touch at home to Inniskeen last Tuesday, but after losing Brendan Óg Ó Dufaigh to injury, our lads’ chances faded when they conceded a number of goals in the final two quarters. A team shorn of some regular players then lost out to Scotstown on Monday. The lads are away to Aughnamullen next Tuesday.

U-12: Our Under-12 Division 1A team fell to a narrow defeat away to Donaghmoyne last Wednesday. A goal by Eoghan McGinnity got us up and running and although Donaghmoyne responded strongly, points by Eoghan, Terence McDonald, Josh Maguire and Dean Doherty and a goal from Dylan Ballantine left us just a point down at half-time (2-7 to 1-11). Dylan added another brace of goals after the restart and Adam McGarry and Eoghan kicked points and when Dylan flicked another ball to the net late on, we were ahead, only for Donaghmoyne to steal victory with a late surge. The breaks didn’t go our way in the final minutes, but this was a fine team performance, with all starting players and substitutes contributing.

Team and scorers: Tom Dauksts; Tiarnán O’Rourke, Liam Conway (Capt.); Deivydas Kaklauskas, Nathan Lavery; Dean Doherty (0-1f), Terence McDonald (0-1f); Eoghan McGinnity (1-4, 0-1 ’45), Josh Maguire (0-2, 1f); Adam McGarry (0-1f), Dylan Ballantine (4-1, 0-1f).

Subs used: Shay Cooney, Brian McAteer, Ryan McSkeane.

Our Division 3B team continued their winning run away to Emyvale on Monday. We made an excellent start, with points by Jamie Coyle and Deivydas Kaklauskas, either side of a goal from the impressive Josh Deeney. Daragh Croarkin added 1-2 in succession and a Conor Treanor point, followed by a Scott Cooney goal, made it 3-5 to 0-1 at the end of the opening period. Jamie found the net in the final third, but Emyvale gradually ate into our lead and it took some good goalkeeping by Tom to keep us ahead. The hosts closed the gap to a point late on, but Shay Cooney punched home late on to make the final score 5-5 to 4-4 in our favour.

Team and scorers: Tom Dauksts; Ryan McSkeane (Capt.), James Curley; Deivydas Kaklauskas (0-1f), Lukas Virfilas; Daragh Croarkin (1-2, 0-1f), Shay Cooney (1-0); Scott Cooney (1-0), Josh Deeney (1-0); Jamie Coyle (1-1), Conor Treanor (0-1).

Subs used: Dean Conlon, Diarmuid Magee, Eoin Clerkin, Morgan Coyle, Oisín Reilly, Ryan Cassidy, Nathan Boylan.

Next up for both teams, we host Emyvale, which is due to be a double-header on Saturday.

Good luck: To Conor Galligan, Shane Smyth and the Monaghan senior footballers in their Ulster SFC semi-final replay against Armagh in Clones on Sunday. Hard luck to Mustafa Gamal and the county minors, who were edged out of the Ulster MFC in their semi-final against Armagh last Saturday.

Summer Camp: We will be hosting a Harps Summer Camp on the week of August 18-22 for children aged between six and 12. More details to follow.
