Corduff Notes

Juveniles:

U6 / U8 / U10
Excellent turnout across all age groups.  Training is scheduled every Saturday from 10.00 to 11.15
U12
U12s have begun the Spring League  and hosted Killanny last Saturday . Luck wasn’t with them on the day and they were defeated.
Effective from Monday March 31st U12s will train every Monday and Thursday from 7.00pm to 8.15pm.
U14
U14s have begun their Division 3 League campaign and the next fixture is at home against Cremartin on Saturday April 5th.Throw in at 12.00.
Effective from Monday March 31stU14s will train every Monday andThursday from 7.00pm to 8.15pm.
Minors:

Minor Football commenced this week with Corduff away to Inniskeen on Tuesday in the 1st Round of The McElvaney Recycling Minor League. Next Tuesday April 8th Corduff will be in action again at home to Castleblayney.

Seniors:

Platinum Tanks Reserve League : Last Saturday Corduff hosted Doohamlet. Doohamlet were quick to register a score setting the tone for the rest of the game. Doohamlet rattled the net in the 7th minute. Corduff picked up the pace scoring a goal in the 20th minute . Goals continued to come with 2 more for Doohamlet and 1 for Corduff. Both teams continued to register scores in the second half with Doohamlet  winning on a scoreline of 3-12 to 2-11.  The next outing for Corduff in this league is away to Carrickmacross this Saturday evening at 7pm.

Senior League: The next round in The Monaghan Electric Intermediate League is on Sat 12th April when Corduff host Donaghmoyne with throw-in at 6pm.

After that League action increases with 2 games a week for the remainder of April. More details next week.

Best wishes to Clubman Mark Gilsenan and his Ardee College team playing in the All Ireland Final in Portlaoise this Saturday making it the first Louth College team to do so!

Ladies:

Training  continues on Tuesday evening at 7pm for U14s,U16s and Minors. On Friday at 6:30pm and Sunday morning Minor and Senior training continues.

Competitive action really begins this week with all teams out.

U14s: They had a bye on Monday so the first U14 match is next Monday away to Inniskeen at 6:45pm.

Minors: The Minor League kicks off this week with Corduff at home to Eire Og this evening Thursday at 6:45pm.

Intermediate League: The next round of the Intermediate League takes place on Friday week April 11th when Corduff are away to Latton at 6:45pm.

Congratulations to club member Barbara Ward and St. Patrick’s College Thurles on winning the All Ireland Lagan Cup on Monday. As always it is a great honour to have a club member on a winning All Ireland side!

Best wishes for the 2014 season to our new managers / mentors. It is always great to have new people on board. We welcome U14 and U16 manager Peter Cassidy and wish him good luck. Another new face is Declan Kernan Minor and Senior manager and likewise we wish him good luck for the season . We also wish all the back room teams  and helpers good luck for 2014.
