Seniors: The next game will be Round 2A of the Championship versus Clontibret this Saturday evening, September 7th at 6pm in Ballybay. The winner goes through to the semi-final, whilst the loser will go into Round 3B to play for a semi-final place. Páirc Mhuire, Scotstown will also host the Senior Championship Round 2A fixture between Monaghan Harps and Ballybay on Sunday evening at 6pm – club members are asked to help with stewarding for this game.

Juniors: The C team went down to defeat on Sunday afternoon at home to Killanny, 1-11 to 2-12. The team and scorers were: Cian Mohan; Adrian Carbin, Mattie McCague, David Caulfield; Mark Clerkin, Barry McMeel, Emmet McCrudden; Damien F McKenna, Ross McKenna; Shane Rice, Mark McKenna (1-3), Mark Treanor (0-3); Conor Caulfield, Mark McDevitt (0-4), Paul Sherlock (0-1). Substitutes used: Declan McCarville, Gerard McKenna. The next JFL game is a home fixture against Blackhill this Sunday at 1:30pm.

Minors: The delayed Monaghan Minor Championship began on Tuesday evening with Scotstown away to Magheracloone in the quarter-final, with the winners playing Monaghan Harps in the semi-final.

Under 16: The Under-16 season came to a close for Scotstown on Saturday last when they were beaten in the League Division One semi-final by St. Patrick’s. Points from Caolan McKenna, Jamie McCarey & Leonard Mc Dermott kept them in touch with the home side in a low scoring first half as they trailed by a point at the break. St. Pat’s got to a great start in the second-half, increasing their lead to six points, but a well worked goal from James Sherry reduced the arrears. However, St. Pat’s finished strongly to win on a final score of 3-10 to 1-9. Under 14: The B team bowed out of League Division Five competition at the semi-final stage, losing out to Monaghan Harps by 4-12 to 6-11. Scotstown met the Harps on five occasions during the season, with very little between the sides each time. The lads can be proud of a committed performance on the field, and look forward to next year’s competition with confidence.

Under 12: The B team lost out to Emyvale by the narrowest of margins in the Division 3B Shield Final on Saturday last, 3-4 to 3-3. The team have made great strides this year due to their hard work and commitment. play Magheracloone in the Division 1A Shield Final this Saturday, September 7th at 3pm in Monaghan.

Ciste: The August Ciste draw took place on Saturday night, and the winners were: €700 –  Gerard McCrudden, The Point, Ballinode; €300 – Jackie McMeel, KIllylough; €100 – Mary McMahon, Scotstown; €100 – Killian, Jamie & Fiona McKenna, Annahagh; €100 – Francie McCormack, Ardaghey; €100 – Ann Sherlock, Doogary; €100 – Edward Beggan, Knockatallon; €100 – Ciaran Clerkin, Clarna. Development Draw: The Scotstown GAA Development Draw will take place on Sunday, October 27th. First prize is a Seat Ibiza car; second prize is a cruise; there are three cash prizes of €1000, €500 and €500 for third to fifth and sixth prize is a pair of tickets for next year’s All-Ireland Football Final. Tickets available on the Scotstown website and from club members priced at €20 each or three for €50.
