Lotto. The numbers drawn in the Club Lotto this weekend were 10, 14, 22 and 24. The jackpot was not won and the four winners of the Lucky Dip were Sean and Kate Dermody, Rosie Hand, Pat and Ann Kieran and Una Murray.  Una plays the club Lotto online and is the first prize-winner to play by this method.  Congratulations to all the winners. The next draw will take place in the clubrooms on Monday 26th August and the Jackpot will be 3,400 euro.

Pitch Development.  The work of laying the drainage pipes across the field at seven metre intervals has now been completed. The topsoil is   being replaced onto the pitch in preparation for the laying of surface drains.

Keep an eye on the website and/or the clubs face book page as members far and near can keep up to date with progress through this facility.

Best Wishes.  All in the club want to extend best wishes to Paul and Michael as they head to Croke Park for the All-Ireland minor semi- final on Sunday afternoon.  Many club members will be travelling to Dublin to support the two young men and their team-mates in their campaign to claim the Tom Markham Cup.

Senior Football Championship.  It’s the back door for Magheracloone following the defeat to Scotstown on Saturday evening. Magheracloone suffered a serious blow before a ball was kicked when Tommy Freeman had to cry off through illness.

The players are looking forward to the next round and are confident that Magheracloone will still have a big say as to the final destination of the Mick Duffy Cup for 2013.

Senior League. The league continues with two more games this week. On Wednesday the team played the last home game of the season with Castleblayney being the visitors to Inniskeen. On Saturday, the team makes the short trip to Carrickmacross in search of two more points to strengthen their position near the top of the table. The throw-in at Carrickmacross is timed for 7.00p.m.

Under 12 Shield Semi-final.  The semi final of this competition was fixed for Saturday last but it was postponed and will be replayed at a later date.

Under 14.  This competition continues on Tuesday 3rd September with a home game versus Killanny at 7.00 p.m. This is the last game of the League series and Magheracloone will be hoping to claim the points to improve the League position.

Under 16.  Due to Monaghan’s involvement in the All Ireland Minor Championship Semi final in Croke Park on Sunday next, this match has now been postponed, and refixed for Monday next, 26th August, at 7pm in Magheracloone.

The League semi finals are provisionally scheduled for Thursday 29th August.

Minor League.  The Magheracloone team await the final section of the league to see who the opposition will be in the semi-final of the competition. After strong performances in the last few games the team will be confident when facing any of the remaining teams. The semi-finals are due for decision towards the end of the month.

Charity Cycle. The 150 kilometre Charity Cycle will be held on Saturday, September 14th. It is in aid of Magheracloone Care of the Aged and the GAA club’s pitch development.  Anyone interested in taking part or helping in any way is asked to contact Thomas McDermott at 0872251476 or Leo himself at0872846996.

Sponsorship cards have now been issued to the various cyclists and the two local groups hope that you will be generous in supporting these two causes.

When the cyclists return to the Community Centre, the club hope to have a crowd of well wishers present to welcome them back to base. The two Ulster Cups will be on display along with music from The Great Pretenders. All are invited.
