U-12: Our Under-12 Division 2B team are through to the league final after a great win at home to Tyholland last Thursday. Defence was always going to be key on a wet evening against a strong Tyholland attack and our lads stuck to their task superbly, with James McKenny and Liam Conway providing excellent cover for Tiarnán O’Rourke and Ógie Duffy, with the considerable help of midfielders Nathan Lavery and Dean Doherty. Ryan Leonard (two), Adam McGarry, Shay Cooney, Lochlainn Power and Nathan Lavery scored first-half points to give our lads a 0-6 to 0-2 lead, before Nathan, Ryan and Lochlainn added scores in the early minutes of the second half. Dean Doherty also got on the scoresheet with a brace of points, either side of the only goal, scored by Shay, as our lads secured a 1-11 to 0-4 win. All nine substitutes also showed well to add to the options for the final against Donaghmoyne on Sunday week (August 31).

Team and scorers: Daragh Croarkin; Tiarnán O’Rourke, Brendan Óg Duffy; James McKenny, Liam Conway; Nathan Lavery (0-2), Dean Doherty (Capt., 0-2, 1f); Shay Cooney (1-1, 0-1 ’45), Adam McGarry (0-1); Ryan Leonard (0-3), Lochlainn Power (0-2).

U-16: The Under-16 footballers have a home game against Seán McDermotts this Thursday.

U-14: Our Under-14 Division One team had a good win at home to Emyvale last Tuesday. After a slow start, our lads slowly but surely took over and they pulled away after half-time to return to winning ways on a scoreline of 6-15 to 2-6.
