Youth Affairs

U-8’s:-

Our U 8’s were out last night in Aughnamullen. A full report will follow in next weeks notes.

U10’s:-

The U-10’s went to Cloghan last Saturday, and played Magheracloone, Monaghan Harps and Latton, strong but different opposition for our young lads. Once again they came out on top in all three games, playing some lovely fast flowing football. Well done to all involved. They were out again last night, Wednesday, in Aughnamullen. A report will be included in next weeks paper.

Cul Camps:-

In Clones last week over 100 children took part in fabulous weather in the hugely enjoyable Summer camp. The Currin club was well represented, and the Junior player of the week went to Shannon Murphy,  the Senior player to James Mc Quaid and the skills player of the week going to Conor Smith. Well done to all who took part, the future for Currin is very bright indeed. Hats off to the Clones club who made the ‘big field’ available to all these youngsters, so close to the Ulster final, definitely thinking of the future. Highlight of the week for many was getting to meet the Donegal manager Jimmy Mc Guinness and captain Michael Murphy.

U-12’s:-

The  U 12’s played Sean Mc Dermotts on Tuesday evening in Scotshouse. Their next game is down to be against Inniskeen at 12.00 in Scotshouse on Saturday next, but check with management.  Please show your support.

U-16’s

The U-16 final against Doohamlet is fixed for tonight, Thursday 18th July in Aghabog at 7.30pm. Niall, Enda and the lads deserve your support. They have played magnificently to get there.

Development Committee.

The development committee’s plans for the refurbishment and upgrading of our dressing room complex are available from Declan or Austin. It is hoped that everyone interested has responded to the advertisement. If not, contact Declan asap.

Inter County Football

The day has arrived, the Ulster final is on next Sunday, and we wish our three representatives, Dick, Stephen and Jack all the best. Monaghan’s record against Donegal in recent and not so recent times has always been good. Since he first played in the championship in 2000, Dick has always been on the winning side in significant games between the counties, most notably in Ballybofey and Omagh a couple of years ago. This dominance to continue on Sunday.

Ladies Senior Inter County Football

The Currin club wish to congratulate our representatives, Ellen Mc Carron and Laura Boylan on their ‘four in a row’ achievement of Ulster championships last weekend. This is a fantastic achievement and we wish them well in their All Ireland quest.

Vincent Hughes

For the past year our club facilities and those of the Community Centre, have been looked after by ‘Vinnie’ Hughes. It is safe to say that he has done a magnificent job in that time and the continual favourable comments are justifiably well deserved. Thank you very much, Vincent, for your dedication and expertise, it was very much appreciated. It is hoped to fill this vacant ‘Tus’ position shortly.
