Clontibret

Senior League

We are at home to Scotstown next Wednesday, 12th June at 8pm. This is followed by an away game against Magheracloone on Sunday, 16th June at 12.30pm.

Reserve League & Championship Division 1

Clontibret 4-8, Scotstown 3-5. A strong all-round performance where early scores set us up for victory. The semi-final will take place this Saturday at home to Ballybay at 7pm. Best of luck to all involved.

We played Scotstown in the league yesterday evening, Wednesday, result next week.

Reserve Division 3

Clontibret 1-10, Clones 2-8. We bowed out of the Division 3 championship last Sunday in a disappointing defeat to Clones. We led the whole game only to relinquish it in a last ten minute spell in which Clones scored 2-3.

We play Currin in the league in Clontibret on Wednesday, 19th June at 8pm.

U14

Clontibret 3-14, Eire Og 5-16.

This was a good, hard-fought performance where we got off to a good start but goals in the third quarter left us with a mountain to climb in the second half. The boys made a determined comeback in the final quarter but couldn’t close the gap despite the best efforts of a number of key players.

Clontibret 7-7, Cremartin 10-13. We lost out in a high-scoring game against neighbours Cremartin last Saturday.

We are at home to Eire Og in the league on Saturday, 15th June at 12pm.

U12

We are away to Doohamlet on Saturday at 12pm. Training continues on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6.30pm.

U10

Training on Wednesday evening at 6.30pm.

Ulster Championship

Every good wish to our county representatives, Conor, Vinnie & Dessie on Sunday as they take on Antrim in the Ulster Championship in Casement Park. Well done also to our minor representatives, Aodh Curran and Michael Paul O’Dowd, who played their part in Monaghan’s win over Antrim and are preparing to take on Cavan in the semi-final.

Congratulations

Heartiest congratulations to Eleanor McQuaid who has done the club and county proud and will represent Monaghan in The Rose Of Tralee in August. Well done Eleanor, we are very proud of you.

Senior Hurling

An improved performance still wasn’t enough to beat a Harps team who ran out 2-11 to 1-11 winners. We wish Archie a speedy recovery.

We play the first round of the championship tonight Thurs v Inniskeen (away) at 8pm.

Well done to our Scoil Mhuire hurling team who competed in a blitz in Cloghan. Thanks to Fintan Brennan, Kevin Duffy, Ryan O Neill and Stephen Mohan for helping out.

Pauric Dowdall, Monaghan Hurling G.P.O will take a coaching session on Monday 10th June in Clontibret. Under 8, 10, 12’s from 6-7pm and Under 14, 16, 18’s from 7-8pm. All players to make a special effort to attend.
