Adult Team news. On Sunday last in hurricane like conditions at Blackhill our adult squad came away with a valuable league point when they shared the spoils in a low scoring encounter which finished Blackhill 0 – 6 Seans 0 – 6. The blustery conditions made good football impossible but they will be disappointed they failed to convert one of the many chances created in the closing stages to secure outright victory having pegged the home side back to parity. This week they play neighbours Eire Og on Wednesday evening at Pairc Sheain Mhic Dhiarmada throw in time is 7.15pm and on Sunday they have Killanny as visitors to the same venue for a 4 o clock start. Everyone involved with the squad will be hoping they can use the wide open spaces of the home sod to their advantage and secure additional league points in the process. We wish all those currently side lined through injury a speedy return to full fitness and of course active service.

Under 8/10 Coaching for this age group continues on Saturday mornings from 10.00-11.00am we hope to see all our usual participants there; another reminder about bringing your own personal juice/water bottle and of course don’t leave that mouth protection at home either! A number of our Under 10’s will be absent on Saturday they are off to Donegal to represent Kilmore & Drumsnatt in the Ulster Final of Community Games we wish them every success in their pursuit of Provincial honours.

Under 16  Our U16 team had a good win over St Patrick’s at Ballybay on Thursday evening last, in a high scoring game which finished  St Patrick’s 2-11 Seans 5-14. That score line doesn’t give a true reflection on how close a game this was; only in the last quarter did our lads put daylight between themselves and their opponents. Our boy struggled throughout against a strong St Pat’s midfield but accuracy in front of goal let the home side down, that, and but for some tenacious Seans defending the result would have been much closer.. Paddy Mc Phillips opened Seans account with long range point; Aidan Ward converted a side line free as the visitors exerted early pressure. Niall Kearns at midfield was working overtime and his steady grafting in that area along with partner Aidan Ward ensured a steady supply of possession to the forward division; they duly obliged, Adam O Driscoll on hand to bag two goals while Martin Mc Guirk, Dylan Mc Nally and Paddy Mc Phillips also found the St Pat’s net. Ryan Connolly in goals came to his teams rescue with a couple of great saves, in defence Jamie Keenan, Niall Murphy, Darren Morgan, Ryan Hughes, Rian Mc Entee, Marty Mc Guirk all had their moments and worked hard as a defensive unit. Midfielders Aidan Ward and Niall Kearns were always in the thick of the action pitted as they were against a strong and hard working St Pat’s pair. Up front  the forward division  of  Dylan Mc Nally, Sean Grant  Shane Kelly, Mark Murphy, Adam O Driscoll and Paddy Mc Phillips can be well pleased with their work rate and final score tally; substitutes Ashley Corrigan and James Connolly slotted in well when introduced Next game is a home match against Carrickmacross this Thursday at 6.45pm.
