Results.  RFL Div. 2B Rd.2Seans 0 -7 Aughnamullen 2 -6

Adult Team news.   Our reserve team on Sunday last despite home advantage were well beaten by a  better visiting Aughnamullen side on a score line of Seans 0-7 Aughnamullen 2 -6. Played in wintry conditions and failing to take advantage of the strong breeze blowing in their favour in the second half our boys never really threatened to overhaul the visitors supremacy. Training continues on Tuesday nights at 7.30pm and on Friday at 8.00pm. The junior league (Dr Ward Cup) competition commences on Sunday 31^st March our boys take on Scotstown in the opening game of that competition, throw in time is 4.00pm.

Under 8/10.  An information/registration night will be held in the complex on Friday 22^nd March, parents and children involved in the Under8/10 age groups are invited and encouraged to attend.  Outdoor coaching and activity sessions will commence on Saturday 6^th April and as established in previous years these sessions will be in the morning  running from 10.00am -11.00am, with the introduction of midweeks sessions on Wednesday evenings as soon as daylight hours allow and these will be from 6.45pm to 7.30pm. The second night of the coaching workshop to develop Under 6/8 coaches continues in Scotstown on Thursday 14^th March from 7-30 to 9-30. A similar workshop for Under10/12 will be held in St Macartan’s College on Wednesday 20^th and 27^th March also commencing at 7.30pm-9.30pm.

First Aid course. The club are organising a First Aid Course geared towards providing under age team mentors with sufficient knowledge to treat and deal with injuries that may occur during the course of training or games. Course duration is 15 hours which will be delivered over 5 weeks; participants who successfully complete the course will receive accreditation certificates. Provisional start date is Tuesday 26^th March subject to sufficient numbers indicating their intention to enrol and completed course. All participation costs will be borne by the club but there will be an expected pay back in terms of time and making available this newly acquired knowledge for the welfare and care of the club’s juveniles during games. Cultural Night. Our monthly Traditional Irish Music session took place last Friday. This was a terrific night’s entertainment. It’s always great to have new musicians come along and take part in these sessions. It’s such a confidence booster for any budding talent. In addition, we were treated to beautiful singing from Tara Gillsenan, who has progressed through auditions and the 1st round of TG4’s Scór Encore, a fantastic achievement. Well done Tara.

Thank you to all our local musicians, plus everyone who turned out in force, from Corcaghan and Monaghan C.C.É. branches. Thank you to Paula, Margot, Anne, Kathleen & Patricia, for the tasty treats and tea. Remember to keep the 2nd Friday free, next session takes place on Friday 12^th April. St. Patrick’s Night: A Traditional Irish Music session will be held in the club’s Social Centre on Sunday 17^th March @ 9pm. Please come along and experience and enjoy local and visiting young talented musicians in their St Patrick’s Day celebration, it promises to be a great night…

 Membeship. Club membership subscriptions are now due for renewal and should be paid to club registrar Marie Mc Entee before 31^st March. The membership fee remains at €20. Club membership registration details are updated online annually and recorded in Croke Park, to ensure inclusion as a current member with the entitlements that brings; all membership subscriptions must be paid before the above deadline.

Ceili Dancing. Ceili dancing classes continue in the complex this Sunday at the usual time of 6.30pm -7.30pm. All young boys and girls are welcome and invited to come along and participate.

Totto. The numbers 2, 5,7,8,3,1,6,4 drawn on Monday night last for a jackpot prize of €7,500 were not correctly forecast. The lucky dip winners were Brian & Delia Sherdian Gortmore, Mark Mc Kenna Ballinode, Peter Sherry Crumlin, Noel murphy Cordevlish Stranooden, Jim & Madge Treanor Drumaconnor, Paul Carey Ballinode, Gerry Mullan North Rd.Kilmore & Drumsnatt Community Games, Mary Prunty Drumgarve, Deidre Mc Elvaney Cabra. Next week’s (Week 12) jackpot is €7,600.

Our weekly social members Totto draw is now entering a new term or year, since the draw was overhauled this is the beginning of its third year, as a result many people’s membership has expired. We thank all who have supported us, thus far; that generosity we hope will continue. To maintain and ensure the opportunity to win our handsome jackpot and the other weekly prizes on offer all members are required to renew their participation.

Bard of Oriel.  A festival of humour and verse comes to the Complex on Saturday 23rd March commencing at 9.00pm sharp. Last year’s inaugural staging proved to be very entertaining and enjoyable, the calibre of participants already committed to this year’s event are sure to add to the entertainment value, laughter and fun are guaranteed a night not to be missed. Tickets costing €10 are available from any committee member.

Easter Camp. Monaghan Coaching and Games Development Committee are organising a 3 day Easter camp for boys and girls between 5 and 12 years on 2^nd/3^rd /4^th April.The venues are Pearse Brothers’ Football Grounds, Ballybay, Kilmore Training Grounds Scotstown, and St Tiernachs Park Clones.Gaelic Football, Hurling and Comogie are all covered, further information and application forms are available to down load from the Monaghan website monaghangaa.ie
