Annual Dinner Dance

On Saturday night last all roads led to the Glencarn Hotel, Castleblayney as we held our Annual Dinner Dance.  The night was a huge success and it is thanks the 200+ Cremartin Gaels who attended.  Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the night and in this year of the Gathering it was a tremendous night of celebrations and true GAA community spirit.  We would like to thank everyone who was involved in making the night a memorial occasion for our Award recipients.

In attendance from Coiste Contae Mhuineachain was Marion Donnelly, Treasurer, who paid the Cremartin Club a lovely tribute. We would like to thank Marion for taking the time out of her busy schedule to spend the night with us.

Our MC’s on the night, Treasurer Gary Caville and Chairman Brendan McNally, were outstanding in their roles ensuring that everything ran to schedule in the most professional manner.  The night’s proceedings were opened by one of the most exciting new local bands Top Link and following this we honoured our newlyweds for 2012, Former Senior Player Colm Boyd and his wife Sarah, Former Senior Player Bosco Harris and his wife Mary Rose and Former Cultural Officer Eadaoin Woods and her husband Gerry.

Our U-16 Management team of Enda Carville; Seamus Eccles; Ciaran Branigan and Gerry Atkinson were also awarded for Winning the U-16 Championship last year.

Our Hall of Fame Winners were Seamus Brady and Seamus Flanagan and were honoured on the night and presented with their Awards.  These fitting Awards are a testimony to these two gentlemen as they are an excellent example of not just stopping being a Cremartin Gael once you take the Cremartin Jersey off.  They are now entered into the most prestigious role of honour and still continue with their commitment to the Cremartin Club.
Congratulations to Jonathan McGuigan on receiving the Hugh and Kathleen Branigan Senior Player of the Year Perpetual Award and Shield, which was presented to him on the night by Maurice Branigan, for his remarkable contribution on the field of play in 2012.

Congratulations to Kevin Atkinson on receiving the well deserved Junior Player of the Year 2012 award for his hard work rate and commitment this year.

Club Person of the Year 2012: Congratulations to Gerry Atkinson on receiving the Club Person of the Year Award which was very well deserved for his contribution and medical expertise with all our teams over the past number years.

After the formalities music was provided by Colarado Fever who helped us dance the night away.  We would like to thank Brendan and Gary our MCs, Majella for all her hardwork and IT Skills, the Executive Committee for all their hard work behind the scenes, all Award Recipients, Canon Connolly and Fr. White, Martin our Players Rep and all the players who helped, Ann Mulligan and Ann Brennan for organising the draw, Toplink and Colarado Fever for providing the music, the Glencarn Hotel for their hospitality, Philip Fitzpatrick, Photographer, Brian McGuigan from Simple Signs, and anyone who helped out in any way in making our event such a great success.  A big thank you to everyone who attended on the night and supported our Club.  Some photographs from this great night can be viewed on our Facebook page.
