Monaghan Harps notes

Monaghan Harps Lotto: Numbers 6, 7, 25 and 27. Jackpot of €2,200 not won. Anyone who has sold a direct-debit is asked to pass the details on to the Lotto committee as soon as possible, so they can be entered into our weekly draw straight away.

 

Meetings: The club’s first monthly meetings of 2013 take place this Thursday, with the juvenile meeting kicking things off at 7pm, followed by the senior meeting at 8pm. All welcome.

 

Charity match: Anyone who still has sponsorship forms/money from our recent charity match is asked to give them to Owen Connell or leave them into the clubhouse as soon as possible. Details of the charities to benefit from this match will be announced in the coming weeks.

 

Membership: Membership fees for 2013 are being maintained as follows: €20 per adult, €10 per child or €50 for a family of two adults and any number of children. Money can be paid to registrar Maurice Galligan, treasurer John Harden or in the clubhouse.

 

The Gathering 2013: Anyone who would be interested in organising a reunion for any former Harps team is asked to contact any committee member.

 

McKenna Cup etc.: A number of Harps players were in action last Sunday. Neil McAdam started at midfield in Monaghan’s win over St. Mary’s, while Conor Galligan came off the bench and Donal Hahessy also came on to make his debut. Gary White and Niall Hahessy both played the full 70 minutes for Sligo IT, who were beaten by the Sligo county team in the Connacht FBD League.

 

Best wishes: All at the club wish talented Under-16 footballer John Mulligan a full and speedy recovery from the injury he suffered recently.

 

Scór: Preparations are underway for Scór Sinsir 2013, with the semi-finals set for February 15 and 16. Contact Gerard Clerkin if you are interested in taking part.

 

Mouth-guards: It is now compulsory for all players from minor down to wear a mouth guard at both training and matches. All players and juvenile mentors are asked to take note. More details about this can be found on our website: www.monaghanharps.gaa.ie.

 

Monaghan GAA awards: The annual Monaghan GAA/The Northern Standard awards night takes place at the Hillgrove Hotel on Saturday week (January 19), with special guest Michael Duignan,. Tickets are €30 and are available by contacting Anita Finnegan at 086 6676440.
