AGM: The club’s Annual General Meeting will take place this Sunday, November 18, at 3pm in the clubhouse. We encourage everyone who can make it and who has an interest in the club to come along and get involved.
Juvenile AGM: The juvenile club’s AGM took place last Thursday in the clubhouse. Opening the meeting, juvenile chairman Séamus McManus thanked everyone who contributed in any way during the year, including the committee, all the juvenile players and their parents, the senior players who helped out and particularly, the team managers and mentors, who volunteer so much of their time. He thanked everyone involved in fundraising, mentioning the street collection, car wash, table quiz and club lotto and stressed the continuing importance of player development. Secretary Val Forde also thanked everyone involved in the club, paying particular attention to the fact that there are 100 children registered for Saturday mornings and also referring to the success of Scór and our ‘Coaching in the Community’ initiative in Killygoan. Reports followed from Úna Forde on Saturday-morning coaching, Finbarr Conlon on the Under-8s, Jimmy Croarkin on the Under-10s and Under-12s, Michael O’Donoghue on the Under-14s, Brian Lenehan on the Under-16s and Gerard Clerkin on Scór. Team management: Anyone interested in managing one of the club’s juvenile teams in 2013 is asked to forward their names to the football development committee. Expressions of interest regarding all teams up to minor should be sent to Ciarán Mulligan (086 8411275). There will be a football-development meeting in the clubhouse tonight (Thursday) at 8pm.
Scór: The Scór na nÓg semi-finals take place this weekend. We will be represented this Friday in Tullycorbet and on Saturday in Ardaghey. Both nights start at 8pm sharp. Best of luck to all involved.
Table Quiz: We will be hosting a fundraising table quiz on Friday, December 7. There will be another short meeting in the clubhouse this Sunday at 7.30pm. All help welcome.
Coaching Courses: Monaghan GAA have a number of coaching courses coming up in the next few weeks, including foundation level on November 30 & December 1 and Level One on November 16 & 17 or 23 & 24. Anyone interested in attending should contact juvenile secretary Val Forde at 087 9515175.
Aido file: For all club members and anyone interested in getting involved in Monaghan Harps hurling club, the AGM is to be held this Friday (November 16). Starting time is 8pm in the social complex at Gavan Duffy Park. You can all then buy Jack a pint for his birthday! One year closer to thirty big lad!!
