Doohamlet GFC Notes

Seniors:  Doohamlet  0-18    Toome   1-07

Doohamlet remain  top of the Intermediate league with another two victories last week.  On Wednesday last we had a home game against Toome and after a whirlwind start had Doohamlet nine points up before the visitors registered their first score.  Ted Duffy back to his best and Paul McArdle were most to the fore in the scoring stakes with nine points between them.  Toome rallied briefly in the second half but the home side after using all five subs ran out easy winners in the end.

Corduff   1-07   Doohamlet  3-06

On Sunday last Doohamlet travelled to the impressive facilities at Corduff and after a right battle with the locals came away with another brace of league points.  Corduff had the perfect start when they hit the net in their first attack.  However this focussed minds with the early throwin and Jason McElroy netted for Doohamlet after good work by Colin Walshe and Ted Duffy.  Further scores from Paul McArdle and Mark Murphy kept the score board ticking over and after a fine flowing move Darren Connolly netted goal number two to leave the half time score  Corduff 1-02  Doohamlet 2-04.

The home side cranked up the pressure after the break and whittled down the deficit and drew level.  However Doohamlet settled and after two points from Ted Duffy, Glen Comiskey followed up a fine move and crashed to the Corduff net for goal number three and clinch the victory.
