Truagh Notes

June 13th, 2012

Seniors: We were defeated in  Senior Championship last Saturday night by Monaghan Harps. Although dominating the first 20 minutes, going 6 points to 1 up,  we let the Harps back into the game and ended up on the wrong side of a 1-12 to 0-10 defeat. The next league game is not until July 6th when we will seek to avenge that defeat by playing Monaghan Harps.

Reserve B: We were due to play Castleblayney last night (Wed) in St. Mellans at 8pm. Report next week

Reserve C: Our next game is away to Emyvale tomorrow Friday 15th June at 8pm.

Reserve D: We were due to play Clones last night (Wed) in Clones at 8pm. Report next week

Minors: We resume the league on June 26th.

Lotto Jackpot €1,600: There was no winner this week’s jackpot of €1,600. The lucky 4 numbers were 1, 6, 9, 18. There were 4 match 3 winner receiving €50: Ben Sherlock, Ballinode; Brendan McNally, Ardkir; PJ Sheerin (YT)  & Gabrielle McRory (YT).  Next jackpot draw is worth €1800. Check team: Ursula’s.

CPR/AED TRAINING: There will be a training day coming up in early July in St.Mellans . Anyone interested in doing this course please contact Eilish Treanor on 0877857680 or email treanor.eilish@gmail.com. More details later.

Cairde: Cairde jackets are now being distributed to all current members. Our club cairde is now in year 3 and remains an essential source of funding for the development of our facilities. New members are very welcome to join. Again, we thank all those who contribute to this scheme as they are assisting greatly in the progression of amenities utilised by young and old of the parish.

Party Bookings: Can be made for either bar. For booking contact 0861991150.

Club Shop: The club shop is open each Friday evening between 7-8pm. Sale rail with Hoodies, T-shirts, Water-Proof Track Bottoms, Rain Jackets and Padded Jackets. For that special occasion why not purchase a Gift Voucher. Many items to choose from.

U14: Our U14b team defeated Currin in the Championship Semi Final 5-10 to 1-06.  Players involved where Kieran Mc Kenna, Finbar Mc Ginn, Matthew Mc Kenna,  Shane Mc Kenna, Cormac Mc Kenna, Gary Mohan, Killian Woods, Shane Woods, Dermot Boyle, Dara cassidy, Karl Mc Gee, Oisin Treanor, Jamie Treanor, Conor Maguire and Shane Sherlock.  The Championship Final will take place in Drumhowan on Tuesday next the 19th of June at 7pm against Rockcorry.

U14a Team will play Emyvale in Emyvale this Saturday 16th of June at 1.15pm.  Players are asked to assemble in Emyvale at 12.30pm

U14b Team will play Currin in Scotshouse this Saturday 16th of June at 12pm.  Players are asked to meet in St Mellans at 10.45am.

All support would be greatly appreciated at these games.

U-12: Check with management.

U-6, 8 & 10: Training every Thursday evening in St. Mellans from 7-8pm.

Hurling:

Seniors –We lost to Castleblaney last week. We were due to play Clontibret on Tuesday night last. Report next week.

Under 16s: First round of the league begins on 25th June

U14s: Won their shield semi final on Monday last defeating Castleblaney by 3-5 to 2-2. We play Cootehill in the Shield final this Sunday evening at 5pm in Clontibret. Please come out and support the boys

U12s: Begin theri league campaign with an away game to Monaghan Harps on Monday at 7pm. Meet at St Mellans at 6pm. Training on Friday evenings at 6.30pm

 

Camogie:

 

Juveniles: We are currently working on a new programme for our juvenile members.  Details to follow shortly.

 Seniors: No Senior training until further notice.

 League: Our next league game is away to Clontibret on the 26th of June

 Lucky Square: Our lucky square is back in action and there is still a few numbers available so if anyone would like to take part please contact any member of the club. Congratulations to Maura Mc Kenna (Oiney) who was the winner of last weeks jackpot.  Thank you to all who support our lucky square.

 

 

Ladies Football:

Training:Training is now every Monday & Wednesday nights at 7.45pm sharp. New players are still very much welcome to come along.

 

Registration: Is now due to be paid and can be given to Pauline Treanor(Morris) at training. Please make it your priority to pay this asap

 

 

 

Liathroid Laimhe:

Club Presentation. As the remaining club competition was wrapped up this now allows us to go ahead with our annual club presentation night which will take place on the 23rd of June in St.Mellans, we hope to see all winners and runner-ups out and as many members for a bit of craic.

Feile Na Gael. The Feile na Gael team will soon be called into action, and the team of boys are James Mc Kenna, Gary Mc Kenna, Aaron Mohan, Ryan Mohan, Gary Mohan and Cormac Mc Kenna, so keep practising and keep in shape for the national competition.

Summer Play. As many club members as possible should avail of the free lighting in the alleys during some slightly summery evenings, remember parents get them in to the alleys during the wet evenings
