CREMARTIN CLUB NOTES 17.05.12

 

Shalotto

There was no winner of the Shalotto held in the Social Club on Sunday 13th May. Numbers Drawn were: 2-5-12-19.  Lucky Dip Winners: Michael McGuigan, Cremartin (x2), Seamus Leonard, Marion McNally, Drumgriston and Hannah Mohan, Melbourne.  The Jackpot stands at €7,000 and this weekend’s draw will take place in Atkinson’s Shamrock Bar on Sunday evening next. You may join the Annual Shalotto Scheme by contacting any member of the Club Committee.

PLEASE NOTE: ALL Shalotto tickets must be handed in by 9.30 p.m. every Sunday evening to ensure that they go into the draw.

IFL: Cremartin v Toome

A great team performance secured us another two points last Monday night when we defeated Toome away on a scoreline of Cremartin 1-13 Toome 0-07.  Team and scores: Damien Lavelle, Christopher Farrell (0-1), Liam Atkinson, Conor Mulligan, Kevin Atkinson, Jonathan McGuigan, Declan Farrell (0-1), Barry Carragher (0-1), Niall Flanagan, Declan Mulligan, Patrick McGuigan (1-0), Darren Bishop (0-4), Eanna Atkinson, Kevin Brennan, Gary Boyd (0-6).  Subs: Martin McNally.

 

Fixtures:

Seniors: We are at home against Tyholland on Friday 1st June next at 8.00 p.m.

Reserves: We are away against Doohamlet on Friday 25th May next at 7.45 p.m.

U-16s: We are away against Aughnamullen on Thursday 24th May next at 7.00 p.m.

U-14s: We are at home against Inniskeen this Saturday 19th May next at 12.00 noon.

Under 8’s
Our first blitz was on last Saturday morning in Eire Og.  It was a great turnout with all of 19 children attending.  Well done to all parents for having their children there early.  Thanks to Eire Og for organising the blitz and refreshments for all the children.  Looking forward to the next one.  Training on Friday evening at 6.30p.m.  See you there.

 

U-12s

Well done to all the youngsters who took part in the Spring League Finals Day at Cloghan on Saturday 12th May.  Everyone played well and are looking forward to the Under 12 Leagues starting on Sat 26th May.  We played Ballybay last Saturday in what was a very good game of football and ended in a draw.  The full panel got game time and all played well.  Congratulations to Jack Branigan on winning the County GAA Skills Competition.

U-16s

We played Castleblayney in a challenge recently in Cremartin.  Thanks to Blayney for travelling and to Barry Grimley for refereeing.  Clones were the visitors to Cremartin last Thursday night and despite going behind early on we fought back to finish ahead by 2-8 to 1-9.  The lads worked hard and showed good teamwork.  Shane Carragher and Eanna Malone were the lads to hit the net.  James Lavelle, Terry Kerr, Mark Brennan, Cathal Kerr, Eanna Malone, Aidan Kerr and Shane Carragher all played well.  Team: J Lavelle, B Kerr, T Kerr, M Brennan, K Hanley, C Kerr, V Rikus, J Leonard, P McGuigan, K McVicar, E Malone, S Carragher, A Kerr.  Sub D Duffy for E Malone.

IT’S A BOY!! Congratulations to Raymond Carragher and Elaina Daly on the recent birth of their beautiful baby boy Max, Congratulations to Ciara and Alan Tarrant on the birth of their beautiful baby boy Jack and to Catherine Malone and Seamus also on the birth of their beautiful baby boy Killian.  Looking forward to seeing them all in the Cremartin colours in the future!!

 

Wedding Bells: Congratulations to Therese Carroll and Wesley Lines, Alison Mone and Dave Cluskey and Colm Boyd and Sarah Boles who all got married recently.  Wishing all couples many years of happiness together!!

 

Congratulations to the Monaghan Ladies Senior Football Team on winning the Senior Ladies National League last Saturday!  Well done to all involved!!

 

Come & Meet Your County Heroes: Open Event This Sunday 20 May In Cloghan @ 12.30

All Roads lead to Cloghan this Sunday where all Gaels have a chance to meet our 2012 Senior Ladies National League Champions & Our Senior Footballers ahead of their Championship 2012 Opener Against Antrim 27 May in Clones.  Our Senior players are available to meet & greet all Gaels as well as opportunity for Photographs – Autographs. There will also be Juvenile skills challenge competitions with prizes. Come along and meet the Farney Army, dont forget your camera, all Gaels welcome !!!

Sympathy

The Club would like to sympathise with Seamus Brady on the death of his sister Philomena Martin (née Brady) of Glasgow and formely of Drunore, Swans Cross, Monaghan who died recently.
