Doohamlet GFC Notes

Seniors:  No game during the week but we have two important games this weekend beginning on Friday evening with an away fixture against Tyholland.  Then on Sunday we have Donaghmoyne as visitors to O’Neill Park.

With a number of players missing for various reasons Doohamlet will need all their reserves to gain points from these two games.

Reserves:  Our Reserve team bowed out of the Junior B Championship with a defeat against Monaghan Harps.  Doohamlet were in this game for long periods and but for some wayward shooting and wrong options taken at vital times could have pulled off a major shock against a high flying Harps side who pulled away in the last quarter to win by 4 points.

Minors:  Our Minor team continue to impress with a very young side competing against much stronger opposition.  Some teams in this division are amalgamated clubs and credit to these lads competing against such strong sides. On Tuesday evening they lost by a single point against Blackhill away.

Congratulations:  To Paul McArdle who made his Senior debut for Monaghan on Sunday evening last against Armagh on the official opening of Oram football pitch.  With the Ulster Senior Championship now looming Paul joins fellow clubman Colin Walshe on the Monaghan panel and we wish both well in the Championship.

Also Congrats to Oram on their big day and credit to their club officers and members for providing such excellent facilities.

Blotto 07/05:  No Jackpot winner, numbers drawn 7, 5, 3, 1, 2, 6,4.  Lucky dip winners James Markey, York St.; C. Stephens, Ilford Essex; Mary June Booth, 38the Cresent; Joan McShane, Monagor; Annie Jackson Clarke, Doohamlet.  Next weeks Jackpot €1,400.
