Seniors.

We played our first game in Senior football last night in Scotshouse against Ballybay. Our next game is on Sunday against Castleblayney in Toome at 12 o clock. Please note the venue change, due to work on the Blayney pitch. Also note the early throw in time of 12 o clock.

Juvenile and Youth Affairs.

Training continues as usual. Keep in touch with Mary and Kieran for all arrangements. Thanks to all who supported the Easter Egg draw.

Dancing:Old time and Ballroom Dancing in the Scotshouse Community Centre on Monday’s has finished for the Summer.  Sincere thanks to Jim and Patricia Brennan who have led this group.

Bingo:  Every Tuesday in the Scotshouse Community Centre starting at 9.00pm.  New members are always welcome.

Music:  Every Thursday at 7.30pm in the Scotshouse Community Centre, with pat McCabe.

Cake Sale on Sunday after 10.00am Mass,  This is in aid of our Community Centre.  This is everyone’s Centre so please support this cause.

Deceased:  We remember Brian Maguire late of Racaulfield and Clones who died recently. He was buried in Ture on Sunday last. The community extends sympathy to the family of Brian who died suddenly last week.  We remember them in our prayers.

Diaconate Ordination:Raymond Donnolly, a seminarian for our diocese who is originally from Monaghan town has been ordained a deacon in the Irish College in Rome this week. Ordination to the Priesthood ( the first since 2002) will follow in June 2013.  We pray for Raymonmd and ask God’s blessing on him at this time.

Congratulations to Pamela Graham and Kevin Reilly, Oakland Grove who were married recently.

Congratulations to Johnny and Laaura McPhillips on the birth of their daughter “Caoimhe”

Scotshouse ICA Guild, alond with Clones and Aghabog guilds have won an award from Monaghan Co Council.  This award is in the Arts and Culture category for the drama and musical event which was their contribution to the Famine Commemoration last September.
The presentation of the Award will take place in the Four Seasons Hotel, Monaghan on Tuesday 8th May at 7.00pm.  Congratulation and well done to all who took part.

Titanic Talk: On Saturday 28th April at 8pm we look forward to welcome Dr Alicia St Leger from Cork to speak to us on Titanic. Dr St Leger is responsible for the new Titanic Exhibition in the Ulster Transport Museum. She is an excellent speaker and deeply knowledgeable on the Titanic.The talk will take place in St Andrews Church, Scotshouse, where there is a memorial plaque to Ernest Waldron King, a former rector’s son, who was one of the many Titanic victims. All welcome.
