Carrick Emmets notes- 28th February
Carrick Emmets Presentation night will take place on Sunday 18th March in The Shirley Arms Hotel. Music is by Rubix. Tickets are €20 and are available from any committee member.
The club lotto takes place every Monday night in the Centre. Last weeks numbers were 4,6,7,24. Emma Eoghan 50e, Andy Callan 20e, Maureen McArdle 20e, Brona Byrne 10e. Jackpot €6,500 next week.
Farney Fun Run will take this Sunday 11th March at 11.30am from Emmets grounds. It will be the same route as last year. Forms are still available in Birdys newsagents.

All Ireland Junior Semi Final
Terry Qualifies for All Ireland Final. 20 aces to 13 down in the third and final game, the pressure was on Emmets man Terry Kiernan. But never giving up, Terry dug deep winning one last serve and scoring eight unanswered aces to record a great victory over Kieran Burke from the Newport club, Mayo in a thrilling All Ireland Junior A Semi-Final played before a full house at St Mellons Truagh on Saturday last. The Mayo man started well, a fine serve and strong left hand seen him win the first match 21-7. Terry regained his composure to take the second game 21-7. The third game seen both players go all out, every shot contested, every ace hard won, and at thirteen all it was anybodys game. Then the Mayo man hit a purple patch, seven aces in a row seen him twenty to thirteen up and victory seemed immenent, but Terry fought back and in as fine a ten minutes of handball seen at St Mellons shot eight aces in a row to clinch a famous win. Final scores 7-21, 21-7, 21-20.
