Gabriel Bannigan and Andy Moran took time out of their busy Ulster Championship preparations to launch this year’s McAree Engineering Monaghan GAA Golf Classic, which takes place on Friday and Saturday, 30th and 31st May, at Rossmore Park Golf Club.
The Classic, now in its 11th year, is an established part of both the GAA calendar and indeed, the Monaghan Golfing Calander. Team entry costs €300, which includes on-course hospitality and a post-game meal in the award-winning Oak Bar and Restaurant as well as the opportunity to win some of the €5000 prize fund.
Speaking at the launch, Gabriel said “We have enjoyed league success already this year and are hoping for more in Ulster Championship and All Ireland Series. It’s great knowing that we have the entire county behind us and its through the support of our all our sponsors and events like the McAree Engineering Monaghan GAA Golf Classic that allows us to provide the very best environment for all the Monaghan Teams to succeed”.
Brendan Casey, Monaghan GAA added “We’d like to thank McAree Engineering for their wholehearted support of our Golf Classic as part of their Tier 2 sponsorship of the county teams. We are excited about this year’s Classic, it’s brilliantly presented by McAree Engineering, as usual there will be a fabulous array of prizes. We’ll be making a few changes this year to make it even better and it’s the ideal opportunity for Golfers from Monaghan and beyond, to come out and show their support for the players who represent the County”
“We are delighted to be backing Monaghan GAA” said Vincent McAree, Operations Director, McAree Engineering. Winning the Division 2 league title and being promoted back into Division 1 has been a great boost for everyone, and it’s been great coming out to the Volumetric Centre of Excellence at Cloghan and seeing the work the Monaghan teams from Underage in all codes put in to representing Monaghan. We are delighted to be behind them and supporting them to be the best that they can be”.
