Monaghan Senior Hurling Manager Arthur Hughes has announced his National Hurling League panel ahead of this weekend’s derby tie with Louth in a newly formulated Division 4 league.
Hughes and his management team of Aidan Morgan, Jimmy Lacey and Deaglan Crowe enter their fourth term and will face home games against Louth, Warwickshire & Lancashire with away trips to 2024 Lory Meagher champions Fermanagh and Leitrim before concluding the league stages with an away trip to Longford on March 22nd
Hughes has named veterans and Castleblayney duo Aaron Kenny & Hugh Byrne as the 2025 joint-captains in a squad which is boosted by the return of Latton brothers James & Shane Slevin, and has called upon five members of last year’s U-20 All-Ireland finalist squad, Truaghs Oisin Hagan, Clontibrets Tómas O’Connor, Monaghan Harps’ Enda Brady, Inniskeens Conor McHugh and Carrickmacross’ Eoghan Hoey to add to an established and seasoned panel. Patrick Keenan (Clontibret) and Gareth Mohan (Truagh) also feature for a first time. There is the welcomed inclusion of Castleblayneys Leo Moloney and Monaghan Harps’ Eithan Flynn who both picked up injuries during last year’s Nickey Rackard Cup campaign which saw both players sidelined for the club championship
