Monaghan Coaching & Games hosted a 1st & 2nd class Primary Schools blitz for boys and girls on Tuesday 22nd, Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 23rd of October at the VBC Monaghan GAA Centre of Excellence, Cloghan.
28 schools attended the 1st and 2nd class Go Games blitz in Monaghan GAA center of excellence, Schools that attended were Scoil Naomh Padraig Oram, Garron NS, Latnamard NS, Scoil Bhride Tyholland, Killeevan NS, Gaelscoil Eois, Gaelscoil Rois, Scoil Phadraig Corduff, Gaelscoil Lorgan, Scoil Mhuire Rockcorry, Scoil Bhride Mullaghrafferty, St Oliver Plunketts Loughmourne, Edenmore NS, Blackstaff NS, Convent Junior School Castleblayney, Scoil Mhuire na mBuachailli Castleblayney, Scoil Eanna, Aughnafarcon NS, Scoil Mhuire Latton, St Michaels Corcaghan, St Joesephs Knockatallon, St Marys BNS Monaghan, Knockconan NS, Corracrin NS, All Saints Doohamlet, Annalitten NS, St Patricks Broomfield, Annyalla NS.
In total, over 750 boys and girls took part in the blitz with each team getting to play 4 games over the three days. Players got the opportunity to play in various positions and there were plenty of skills on display from all teams. Most of all, the players who participated left the blitz with a smile on their face.
Monaghan Coaching & Games would like to thank all the schools who took part and who made the blitz a huge success, the teachers and assistants who took their students to the blitz and the TY students from Our Ladies Secondary School Castleblayney and St Macartan’s College who came out to referee the games and to help the schools with mentoring/coaching their teams.
