Monaghan GAA Easter Camps a huge success!
Monaghan GAA Easter Camps a huge success!

This past week saw the Monaghan GAA Easter camps take place in Scotstown and Carrick Emmets on Tuesday 2nd, Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 5th of April.

This 3 day camp took place from 10am – 2pm in Kilmore training ground in Scotstown and seen a change of Venue in Carrickmacross to St.Louis Girls Secondary School in Carrick due to poor weather. This allowed the camp in Carrick to continue all week due to the excellent indoor and outdoor facilties available in the school. Monaghan GAA would like to express a huge thank you to both Scotstown and Carrick Emmets and also to St.Louis Secondary School for their help and use of facilities throughout the camp.

Both camps saw 150 kids in attendance each day. The children took part in fun games and activites both indoor and outdoor all week. Each child was also awarded with a hoodie. On the final day of camp we had our Mini Leagues Finals. We ended the week with a presentation ceremony which included each child in nursery receiving a certificate for their brilliant work all week, skills award winners from the Junior and Senior Mini Leagues which were selected by the coaches and certificates for the winning teams in the Junior and Senior Mini Leagues.

The clubs represented in the Scotstown camp included Scotstown, Truagh, Emyvale, Sean McDermotts, Eire Og, Clontibret, Tyholland and Monaghan Harps. The clubs represented in Carrick Emmets were Carrick Emmets, Killanny, Magheracloone, Donaghmoyne, Inniskeen, Cremartin, Castleblayney Faughs and Aughnamullen. A huge thank you also goes to the parents for their cooperation and support during the camp.

Monaghan GAA would also like to thank our coaches at both camps for their hard work during the week and making the camp throughly enjoyable for the kids. Our 34 coaches represented the following clubs Scotstown, Monaghan Harps, Tyholland, Cremartin, Magheracloone, Truagh, Killeevan, Currin, Carrick Emmets, Castleblayney Faughs, Ballybay, Killanny, Aughnamullen and Inniskeen.

We now look forward to our Cul Camps in the summer with Week 1 commencing in Clones, Clontibret and Blackhill on Monday 24th June.
