Football & Hurling Nursery Programme 2024

The Nursery Programme Monaghan Coaching & Games staff & Ulster Coaching staff will deliver is to assist with clubs and coaches working with players at under 6’s.

· The main aim is to assist coaches to deliver effective sessions which build on Fundamentals movement skills and to get players playing from an early age.

· This programme will be delivered by a full-time member of staff who will be designated to certain clubs across the county.

Benefits of this programme

· Develop coaches confidence.

· Getting players started at an earlier age in the hope to increase numbers in your club

· Develop the Fundamental movement skills and basics skills in these players.

· Every club will have a point of contact with a full-time Monaghan Coaching and Games Staff member.

· Equipment packs provided for each club.

Football Nursery Programme (under 6’s) 2024

Each club will be designated a full-time staff member from Monaghan Coaching and Games. Please see below who has been assigned to your club.  This designated person will be in touch with their allocated clubs to deliver the sessions to the Nursery coaches.

This programme will consist of 3 sessions, first session will be an induction session for all U6 coaches (No children present) in a regional venue. The remaining two sessions will be held in each club with players and coaches taking part, the designated person will assist in and deliver these sessions.

Hurling Nursery Programme (under 6’s) 2024

For the Hurling clubs the programme will begin with a session delivered by Kevin Kelly (Ulster Provincial Officer)  and Eamon Blaney (Ulster Region Hurling Development Officer)
Date – 7th of May
Time – 7:30pm 
Venue – Castleblayney College 
We strongly recommend that all Hurling Nursery Coaches from your club attend as this session will provide key information on the roll out of the programme alongside coach training.
Only clubs that attend this session will then receive follow up visits from Eamon Blaney where he will assist with the delivery of Nursery coaching  and your club will receive an equipment pack.
