Doohamlet CLub Notes 07.12.2023

Doohamlet O Neills A.G.M.  Our A.G.M. was held in our clubrooms on Thursday the 30th of November 2023.  Our chairperson P.J. Meehan opened the meeting. The secretary Paul Campbell read the minutes of the previous A.G.M. and then presented his report of the goings on in the club throughout the year.  It was a very thorough and comprehensive report which covered everything that happened throughout the year in our club.  Our Treasurer Bernie O Neill presented the club’s financial report and as usual, it was a very detailed and impressive report.  Our Youth Officer, Aidan Carville sent his apologies, and his report was read by Treasurer Bernie O Neill. It was a concise and detailed structure of the goings on of our juveniles throughout the year.  Our Development Officer Colin Finnegan spoke about the ongoing development of O Neills Park, our new playing field, and its progression into 2024. A lot of work was completed but still a lot to do.

Chairperson’s Address: Our Chairperson P.J. Meehan welcomed everyone to the meeting and mentioned how he was delighted with the attendance.  On behalf of the Club, our chairperson extended the club’s deepest sympathy to any club member who had lost a family member or friend in 2023. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam dhílis.

Our chairperson spoke about the two milestones this year for our Club, the first game played on our new field in May 2023 and the naming of our new recreation track Slí Eamonn ( Eamonn’s Way) on Saturday the 25th of November,  he spoke about the great turnout at the naming, and he thanked Minister for Rural and Community Development and Minister for Social Protection Heather Humphreys for officiating.  He thanked everyone involved with organizing the naming of our new walking track.

 

P.J. then thanked the players and management of our senior team for their hard work and commitment throughout the year.  He spoke about how it had been a frustrating year and wished them every success for 2024.  He also thanked everyone involved with the under-age levels, players, and management, and thanked everyone for their dedication and commitment throughout the year.

Our chairperson went on to thank our main sponsors Gerry and Deidre Mc Elroy and all our sponsors throughout the year and all those who sponsored our games throughout the year.  He thanked everyone who supported the Blotto and all our fund-raising activities.  He thanked all committee members and all those who helped throughout the year in any way within our club.

Blotto results for the week beginning the 4th of December 2023.  The numbers drawn were 1,2,6,5,3,7,4.  There was no jackpot winner, the lucky dip winners were Hugh Mc Ginn, Doohamlet.  Callagh Duffy, Tonyglasson.  Bernadette Courtney, Lackafin.  Shanon Campbell, Clareoghill.  Rose Duffy, Corlagan.  Next week’s jackpot will be €10,000.  Thanks for your continued support.
