Volunteer of The Year: Tomorrow night (Thursday) in the Four Seasons hotel at 7.30pm, our Treasurer for the past 5 years Debbie McArdle will be presented with the Aughnamullen GFC volunteer of the year award , from the County board. This award is in recognition of Debbie’s relentless dedication to the office of treasurer in the club over the past 5yrs’. This role also involves the entire financial affairs of our social centre and bar.Debbie spent every Friday evening after her weeks work ,eating into her personal family time getting wages out to staff’. On match days Debbie would always be in the turnstiles greeting everyone with a smile and a bit of banter while taking their money , ‘an art in itself’. Fundraiser’ grants and loans’ lotto moneys ‘membership ‘every penny was handled by Debbie and more importantly was accounted for to the last penny. Debbie carried out these duties while running her own buisness and a family home, and was always on hand to help out in many other areas of the club. All in all a very worthy winner of ‘Aughnamullens volunteer of the year’ .

Congratulations Debbie and once again a massive Thank You from Aughnamullen GFC.
