By Majella Boyd Wed 4th Oct

U7’s: Final blitz of the season this Saturday 23rd September in Doohamlet.
U9’s: The U’s enjoyed a home blitz on Saturday last in Toome, where a great morning was had by all the parents and children.
U11’s: The under 11’s have a match this Saturday against Éire óg in Smithborough at 12:30pm.
Championship: Round 5 of the Intermediate Championship was abandoned in the 44th minute due to a serious injury to our captain Sean McMahon. Sean was taken to hospital for a CT Scan and chest x-ray and thankfully there was no damage to his neck or back. The Club would like to extend our huge gratitude to the team physio on the day Fiona Callan who was extremely quick to react and spent a long time on the wet cold ground, protecting Sean’s neck until the ambulance arrived. Fiona took charge of the situation remaining calm and composed throughout, highlighting the importance of having qualified personnel on hand. The Club too would like to thank Killanny as they helped in every way they could, there physio was on hand to support Fiona and they also had a club member who was from the Ambulance service, who took the lead on bringing in the ambulance and crew, Sean was taken care of by the ambulance staff and taken away to hospital for assessment. The Club, our players, members and all within the community wish Sean a full and speedy recovery. The Club too would like to wish Shane McCooey a full and speedy recovery as he sustained a nasty ankle sprain and torn ligaments just at the end of the first half.
