Latton GAA Club Club Notes – Week Beginning 11th September 2023
Reserve Div 3B Champions
Our C Reserves travelled to Sean McDermotts on a very hot Saturday evening last to face Scotstown in the league final . Having already captured the Championship earlier in the season they had a Dou-ble firmly in their sights. Scotstown were 1st off the mark with a point in the 3rd minute. This was can-celled out by a point from Oisin McGorman in the 4th. The game continued with Scotstown hitting a further point in the 5th. There then followed a purple patch for Latton as they scored 1-03 in 7 minutes with a Goal and a point from Oisin and a point each for Mark Ward & Stephen Rice. Scotstown hit over the bar in the 14th minute but once again Latton hit 1-02 in 3 minutes with a gaol & point from Ruairi Farmer & a point from Kian Mulligan. Scotstown scored 2 points from play with the first half scoring ending with a Shane Coyle goal in the 25th minute to leave half time score Latton 3-06 to 0.05.The second half started as the 1st had ended with a point from Ruairi Farmer followed by a goal from David Hughes and point from a free from Oisin McGorman. Scotstown the found a patch of form and hit over 2-04 unanswered. Latton hit over a point in the 23rd minute from David Hughes followed by 2 further points the last being put over by Oisin in the 29th minute to leave the final score Latton 4-11 to Scotstowns 2-09. Captain Michael Coyle was delighted to received the cup on behalf of his team . Well done to the team on only the 2nd Season with a 2nd reserve team to capture a double is an amazing performance.
Senior Championship
Well done to our Seniors last Sunday evening with a great away win against Truagh on a final score of Latton 0-18 to Truagh 1-07. A great performance all round. We now face Corduff at home next Sunday evening at 5pm to determine progress to Semi / Quarter final Stages.
U17’S
Best of luck to our U17’s playing away on Sunday morning nest at 11.00am against Sean McDer-mott’s.
