Intermediate Championship: Our Senior team made an exit from this years Championship reckoning at the quarter final stage, with defeat at the hands of a strong Cremartin team on Saturday evening in Scotstown. Two first half goals, with the second goal just before halftime were the sucker punches that gave Cremartin the breathing space they needed to hold off a battling Emyvale team and progress to the Semifinal. With our Intermediate level secure the team and management will brush this off, learn a lot and come back stronger next year. Thanks to all the players, backroom team and management for their commitment all season.
U17’S: The guys were unlucky last Sunday in their last Championship fixture away to Carrick, they put in a huge effort on the day but just could not get over the line and Carrick came out on top with a 6 point advantage. Well done to all involved and it’s been a long but rewarding season since early February when the guys started. Certainly, a team for the future!
U15’S: The last of our teams made their exit from the div. 2 Championship after a nail-biting affair in Tully on Tuesday night under the lights, which saw our U15 team nearly grasp a place in the Championship final. However, Monaghan Harps finished strong to book their final spot in the dying minutes. A brave effort by our lads and on another day the rub of the green might have gone our way. Overall, it was a very good season with the lads lifting the div. 3 league title and running the
div. 2 Championship close. Well done to the team and management on a strong season.
Handball: There was an All-Monaghan Final in Valencia in Spain last weekend – Congratulations to our own Dylan McKenna who won the Men’s C Title in the European 1-Wall Tour Spanish Open, Dylan played a great game of handball against neighbouring clubman Conor Fearon of St Mellans Handball Club, Well done Dylan, great achievement
Officer Training: There are several training courses now available for Club Officers. If anyone wishes to take part, please contact our club secretary for more details.
