Doohamlet Club Notes 19.10.2023

Doohamlet G.F.C. Results:  Our Senior Team secured their place in the Intermediate league for 2024 when they beat Seans on Saturday evening last in the third round of the Mc Elvaney Waste & Recycling   Relegation, Intermediate Championship.   Doohamlet got off to a great start with two points from Barry Mc Bennett, and points from Barry Mc Ginn and Kevin Mc Ardle.  Seans got off the mark with a couple of points and a goal, levelling the game up.  Darren Connolly replaces Sean Markey.  Barry Mc Bennett converts a free and Barry Mc Ginn hits two more points from play.  David Mc Ginn replaces Eoin Markey.  The half-time score was Doohamlet 0-7 Sean McDermotts 1-02.  Doohamlet took control of the second half with   Barry Mc Ginn hitting a further two points from play and a goal from Colin Walshe stretched the lead for Doohamlet .  Captain Barry Mc Bennett strikes a further three points and a goal in the twenty-eight minutes from Oisin O Neill seals the win for Doohamlet.  Jack Mc Elroy replaces Colin Walshe and Eoin Coleman replaces Oisin O Neill.  At the final whistle, the score was Doohamlet 2-12 Sean Mc Dermotts 1-06.  Congratulations to the team on management on a vital win.  Doohamlet G.F.C. would like to thank every team member for their hard work and commitment during the season and to thank the manager John Rafferty   Dessie Mc Bennett and Jo Mc Donald for their work with the team and their commitment throughout the season.

Hard luck to our U-17 team who were beaten in the Maguire Transport Semi-final championship on Sunday afternoon last.  The final score scoreline was Doohamlet 2-06 Tyholland 3-09.  A word of thanks to each member of the team for their hard work and commitment during the season. Thanks to Manger Trevor Duffy, Gary O Neill, John Mc Kenna Carl Smyth and Coach Barry Mc Bennett for their hard work, time and commitment to the team.

Get well soon to Cian Mc Kenna who sustained a head injury during the game.

Doohamlet G.F.C. Breakfast Morning will take place this Sunday the 22nd of October in the Community Hall.  Breakfast is served from 10am to 12 noon.  We look forward to seeing you all there.  It’s a great opportunity to meet up with your Neighbours and friends and to enjoy a fabulous freshly cooked breakfast.

Doohamlet G.F.C. Blotto Results for the week beginning the 16th of October 2023.  The numbers drawn were 5,7,2,3,4,6,1.  There was no jackpot winner, the lucky dip winners were Lauren Mc Ginn, Corleadargan.  Sinead Kelly, Doohamlet.  Aileen Stephens, Oghill.  Noel Connolly, Mullyash.  Noah Martin, Carrickmacross.  Next week’s jackpot will stand at €10,000.  Thanks for your continued support.

Best of luck to our Neighbours Blackhill in the Junior Football Final Championship which will be held on Saturday the 21st of October in Scotstown at 3.30 pm.
