Seniors: A Truagh goal deep into added time denied Donaghmoyne an away win in the first round of the relegation round robin on Saturday Evening. Donaghmoyne were leading 1-09 to 0-09 in the 33rd minute of the second half when a high ball pumped into the square evaded everyone and left the sides level.

Played in blustery conditions Truagh made good use of their wind advantage in the early exchanges of the game scoring 3 points in the first seven minutes, Donaghmoyne replied with two frees from Ronan McDonald and Davy Garland and a Stephen Finnegan point from play levelling the scores on 14 minutes. Truagh moved one ahead but soon found themselves trailing by two after Stephen Finnegan finished off a good Donaghmoyne move with a well taken shot to the keepers right. The Truagh keeper was in inspired form and made a couple of good saves to deny Davy Garland from raising the green flag again before the home side pulled one back in the 23rd minute to leave the scores 1-03 to 0-5 at the break.

Donaghmoyne extended their lead in the opening minute of the second half with a Garland point from play, Truagh replied with one of their own almost immediately but a free and a mark from Garland moved the Fontenoys into a 3 point lead with 11 minutes gone. Points were exchanged in the 13th minute with Declan Courtney scoring for Donaghmoyne and a McDonald free moved Donaghmoyne 4 clear but once again Truagh kept themselves in touch with a point in the 18th minute. Following a 10 minute scoreless spell Truagh pulled another point back to narrow the gap to two, with normal time up Christopher Cunningham pointed for Donaghmoyne to restore the lead to 3 but that was to be our last score as the Hosts drew level with a speculative effort in the last seconds. We now move on to an important home match with Magheracloone this coming Sunday at 1.30pm. Please come and support the team in the last home game of the year.

.

U17s: The U17s have a home game with Inniskeen on Saturday at 12.00pm.
