Seniors: A below par performance saw Donaghmoyne slip to a second championship defeat away to Inniskeen on Saturday evening. Davy Garland opened the scoring on 4 minutes with a point from a free the first of 8 frees he would convert in the game, Inniskeen were soon to take the lead scoring six unanswered points between the 6th and 16th minute. A Garland free pulled one back but Inniskeen hit back shortly after to stay 5 ahead. Another Garland free on 28 minutes was followed by Donaghmoynes first point from play when Stephen Finnegan finished off a surging run with a good point. Inniskeen closed the half with the final score leading 0-8 to 0-4 at the interval.

Inniskeen opened the scoring in the second half but two more Garland frees reduced the deficit to 3 points as Donaghmoyne started to find a bit of attacking rhythm. Unfortunately for the Fontenoys that was as close as it was going to get as Inniskeen hit another 6 points in a row to lead by 9. A Garland point from play and a free made it 0-15 to 0-8. Inniskeen added another before Declan Courtney pointed from play, Inniskeen added another before Garland added the final two points of the game full time score 0-18 to 0-11. The next game is a home match with Scotstown on Saturday September 9th.

U15s: The Div 1 side had an impressive win away to Magheracloone on Thursday last 1-11 to 5-8 in round two of the championship. The Div 5 side lost out away to Magheracloone on Monday evening 4-17 to 1-07. The Div 1 side have a home tie with Killanny this Thursday at 6.45. The Div 5 side have a home game with Castleblayney on Friday at 6.45.

U13s: The U13s have an away Division 1 semi-final on Sunday in Castleblayney at 11.00am please support the boys.

Conor McSkeane Memorial Tournament: It’s a big weekend for our club as we host our annual Conor McSkeane Tournament on Saturday morning. We look forward to seeing a great turnout as we welcome teams from Aughnamullen, Truagh, Carrickmacross and Killanny for a great morning of football and fun. Make sure to call down on Saturday morning to enjoy the football and food on what’s sure to be a great occasion.
