Ulster GAA For All enjoy day of fun and games at Croke Park

Ulster GAA recently welcomed 263 GAA For ALL players along with coaches, family and friends to Croke Park for an action-packed day, starting with a tour of the stadium before stepping out onto the famous turf for skills and game-based activity.

The sun shone down on GAA Headquarters and the All-Star players provided a great spectacle of skills and games, with the pitch lit up with an array of colour and smiling faces.

Groups that took part were Aghagallon All-Stars, Beragh All-Stars, Greencastle All-Stars, Armagh Harps All-Stars, Oakleaf Lions Derry, Naomh Éanna All-Stars, Clan na Gael Lurgan All-Stars, Rehab Care Cavan, Antrim All-Stars, Derry All-Stars, Fermanagh All-Stars, Warrenpoint All-Stars, Cavan All-Stars and Crossmaglen All-Stars.

The GAA For ALL All-Star programme in Ulster is rapidly growing, and provides a fantastic opportunity for those with additional needs to be included in the GAA, not only for participation and exercise but also for the social experiences.

Ciaran McLaughlin, Ulster GAA President, commented: “Great admiration must go to the clubs and organisations that have embraced this initiative, as it is the volunteers and parents in these communities that are the real drivers behind its success. “The enjoyment that the GAA For ALL initiative brings to participants and their families is incredible, and I would encourage clubs across the province to consider starting up their own programmes to promote inclusion in their community.”

Ulster GAA will be hosting its own first Provincial GAA For ALL blitz on 7th October at Donaghmore GAA, Co. Tyrone.

This event will be open to all ages and abilities, and those that aren’t ready to participate in the games will have opportunity to use the skills/fun area.
