U-7/U-9 Go Games blitz Well done to our U7s/U9s who participated in the Inniskeen HC-hosted Go Games Blitz on Sunday morning. Our 4 teams played four matches against Inniskeen, Clontibret, Carrickmacross, Latton, Truagh and Monaghan Harps. Thanks to Inniskeen for hosting and for a great morning’s hurling!
Ulster GAA U-16’s Huge congratulations to Tim McArdle who played for the Ulster GAA U16’s against Dublin in Abbottstown last week. Fantastic achievement Tim, well done.
Summer camp sponsors The Coaching and Games Committee would like to thank Ray and Dominic from The Mascot Castleblayney and Ardee for supporting our camp for the past two years. On Wednesday evening, Coaching Officer David Connolly and Camp Winner Olly McGeough presented a jersey to Raymond Watters, our camp sponsor. Thanks to Mary Carolan from The Framing Gallery Monaghan, for her work on the framed jersey for our presentation.
U-11 Training Our U-11’s were thrilled to have Senior player, Peter Treanor at their training session last Monday evening. Peter put them through their paces, chatting and encouraging them & even signed a few hurls at the end. Thanks Peter for giving your time, the boys and coaches really appreciated it
Membership is now overdue and this is a reminder to all players that they must be registered prior to playing or training in order to be covered for the Player Injury fund. Link for membership is https://member.clubforce.com/memberships_cart_m.asp?LL_ID=2271
Referees we are actively encouraging people who have played the game to consider taking up the referee mantle. Without referees our games cannot go ahead, it is a way of giving back to the game and indeed in staying involved with the GAA family. If you would consider taking up the challenge, contact any committee member who will ensure that you are trained and supported all the way. Give it a go!
FOCUS – a Journey through the Lens is a photographic exhibition, by Glenn Murphy running in Iontas until the end of August. We, like many other clubs & organisations in the area, fully appreciate and enjoy the wonderful moments in time captured by Glenn in matches and at events, not to mention the stunning works from nature. A feast for the eyes, so make sure to go along to Iontas….an event not to be missed. Congratulations again, Glenn!
Clothing Collection the club are organising a clothing collection for Saturday 7th October. More details to follow closer to the time but keep this in mind when you are doing your summer clearout!
