Monaghan Senior’s All Ireland Semi Final
Monaghan’s epic 2023 All Ireland journey came to a conclusion in Croke park on Saturday last with an admirable performance against a strong Dublin side in the All Ireland Semi Final. The Farney men kept track with Dublin and at times dominating possession and with 10 minutes to go were all square at 0-12 all. Unfortunately Dublin had the stronger final minutes finishing with a scoreline of 1-17 to 0-13 that in no way reflected the overall game. Well done to all the players including our own, Rory, Conor, Darren, Kieran, Jack, and Ryan with superb points from Rory (0-3, 45s) and Jack (0-1). 2023 has been an amazing year for County Monaghan with both the Senior and Minor Men reaching the Semi Final and Final of their competitions respectively, to the Hurling team for winning the Lory Meagher trophy and this week we have the Monaghan Minor girls in an LGFA All Ireland Semi Final. Well done to everyone involved in this incredible journey, from all the players and Vinnie Corey and his management team, and Dermot Malone and his management team, on both their remarkable first year’s, to everyone in Monaghan GAA, and to all the clubs in Monaghan, whose dedication for the good of the County make this such a successful football county. Well done to all our Blues this year on the panels, Rory Beggan, Shane Carey, Darren Hughes, Kieran Hughes, Jack McCarron, Conor McCarthy. Micheál McCarville and Ryan O’Toole for the seniors; and Donnchadh Connolly, Darcy Foy, Sean Óg McElwain, Max Maguire, and Tommy Mallen for the minors and all the best in playing for our club.
