Scoil Bhríde
Congratulations to Scoil Bhríde, Mullaghrafferty, on winning the Callaghan Cup Monday 12th in Nobber. They played Ballapousta NS, Kilmainhamwood NS, Muff NS and Nobber NS in the league stages, winning three of the four matches. This brought them into the final where they met the team that beat them in the league stages, Ballapousta NS. However, this didn’t daunt the boys and girls of Magheracloone and a very strong team performance saw them run out worthy winners in the end.
Well done to Jamie Hughes who won the Player of the Match and to all the players who lined out today.
It was also a very fitting send off for Master Kierans today who led his last school football team to glory. Well done everybody

U11’s
Our u11s took part in the annual John traynor memorial tournament on Saturday.
We played 2 group games versus O’Dwyers (Dublin) and Buncranna (Donegal) in which Magheracloone were comfortable winners in both notching up 11 scores in first and 7 in second. 9 of the scores were off the fist which displayed very attractive link up play. This left us topping our 3 team group which set up a cup quarter final v near neighbors Donaghmoyne. This proved a stiffer test from the get go but the lads soon found their rhythm again and ran out 7-3 winners, setting up a cup semi final v another familiar face in Clontibret.
Games were stretched to 10min from the previous 7min, this game was a stiffer test once more and scores were harder to find and at half time we trailed by 2. The referee was changed at half time, the battle continued 7min into second half the final whistle blew and we trailed by 2 notifying the referee of his error he realised there was in fact 3 min remaining, after a pitch clearance we got going again.
We exchanged scores but it wasn’t to be and our run ended but we are definitely not far away and the lads can be very proud of their efforts and the courage shown on the day so congratulations and well done to everybody who took part.
