Seniors: The seniors recovered from a poor first half performance to register a 1-15 to 2-9 win over Ballybay last Wednesday in Parc Fontenoy. Ballybay were quickest out of the blocks with a first minute goal followed up by a point to race into a 4 point lead before a Davy Garland free on six minutes narrowed the lead. Ballybay hit back immediately but three Garland points from free kicks plus a Declan Courtney point from play levelled matters on the 17th minute. Ballybay responded with 3 unanswered points before two Ronan McDonald points from free kicks closed the gap to the minimum at halftime.

Donaghmoyne started the second half with purpose with points from Davy Garland and Stephen Finnegan, Ballybay pulled one back but further scores from Garland, Finnegan and Niall Keenan moved the Fontenoys into a 4 point lead with ten minutes to go. In a frantic closing period Ballybay were reduced to 13 men but were still pushing to take something from the game and closed to within two points only to be rocked by a quick fire Donaghmoyne move which saw Ciaran Finnegan rifle a shot past the Ballybay keeper into the top corner to move Donaghmoyne into a 5 point lead. An Aaron Courtney point extended the lead to 6 but Ballybay were not finished and scored a goal in the dying seconds to leave the final score 1-15 to 2-9. The next Senior game is this coming Friday evening away to Inniskeen at 8pm. Please support.
