Seniors: Our senior team played at home to Magheracloone on Friday evening last, drawing on a scoreline of 1-13 to 1-13. Frees from Tiernan and Jason Duffy opened our account and a collectors item goal from an impressive Shay Duffy pushed us three ahead after 10 minutes. Joel Wilson had an impactful return to action and pitched in with a point to ensure we went in ahead at half time on a scoreline of 1-08 to 1-08. The loss of the influential Keith Sheridan at half time through injury was telling, and the visitors turned over the deficit with a goal of their own to take the lead in the closing stages of the game. However, to the lads’ credit, a strong and determined finish put the game on a knife’s edge in injury time. A cracker of a 45 calmly converted by Tiernan Duffy two minutes into injury time looked like it could have been the winner, however Magheracloone managed a free kick in the dying stages to ensure that both teams left with a point. This was a game which Aughnamullen could have won, and will certainly take positives on what was a much improved performance. Our next game in the league is away to Corduff on Saturday the 1st of July. However, this game may be subject to change as the Féile competition takes place on the same day. Check social media for updates. Best of luck to the team and management, all support welcome.
Reserves: Our Reserves play away to Killanny on Tuesday the 27th of June at 8pm. Come out and support the lads, best of luck to the team and management.
