Over the last 3 weeks Monaghan Coaching & Games have organised Football, Hurling and Camogie blitzes for Primary schools boys and girls.
Football
On the 3rd & 4th of May we welcomed 1st & 2nd classes to Entekra Centre of Excellence in Cloghan to take part in over 2 hours of football. Over the two days we had 600 boys and girls taking part representing 27 schools across the county.
On the 10th & 11th of May it was the turn of 3rd & 4th classes to take part in the blitzes. There was 700 boys and girls representing 30 schools across the county.
Each team got to play 6 matches with the focus on players playing in different positions and full participation from all players. Thanks to all the teachers and schools for attending the blitzes and supporting our Coaching and Games programmes.
Hurling & Camogie
On the Friday 19th May we hosted a Hurling & Camogie Primary Schools blitz for 3rd – 6th class boys and girls. There was 300 boys and girls representing 6 schools across the county who took part, and they played 5 matches over the 2 hours.
The matches wouldn’t be possible without referees. Castleblayney College, Our Lady’s Secondary School Castleblayney and St. Macartan’s College Monaghan provided their TY students to referee all the games over the 3 weeks. A massive thank you and well done to all the referees.
A final thank you to all the teachers and schools for attending the blitzes and supporting our Coaching and Games programmes. See below a selection of photos taken over the 3 weeks.
