Doohamlet Club Notes 25.05.2023

Doohamlet G.F.C. Results:  Our Reserve team played Clones on Saturday evening last in the Quarter Final of the Crawley Cup in Doohamlet.  From the start, both teams traded scores in the first fifteen minutes with points from Dylan Mc Kenna, Oisin O Neill with two points one from a free and one from play, and Damien Ward adding his name to the scoreboard, however, a goal from Clones and a further three points puts Clones ahead at half-time with the score, Doohamlet 0-4 Clones 1-5. 

In the second half, Hugh Mc Ginn replaces Killian Walshe  Doohamlet comes out fighting and a goal from Hugh Mc Ginn brings them right back into the game and with a further two points from Oisin O Neill bringing both sides level.  Clones hit back with two points and a goal giving them the lead once again.  Killian Walshe replaces Aidan Marray.  Oisin O Neill was in shooting form and scored another two points and Hugh Mc Ginn puts one over the bar.  Eric Coleman replaces Dylan Mc Kenna and Joesph Ryan replaces Brian Mc Kenna.  Oisin O Neill scored another two points from play but try as we may and with a few attempts on goals saved, we were defeated at the final whistle by two points.  The final score was Doohamlet 1-11 Clones 2-10.  Team: Nathan Casey, Mark Burns, Ciaran Mc Manus, Brian Mc Kenna, Jack Mc Elroy, David Mc Ginn, Sean Markey, Eoin Markey, Emmet Mc Manus, Damien Ward (0-1) Killian Walshe, Aidan Marray, Ciaran Markey, Oisin O Neill (0-8) Dylan Mc Kenna (0-1).  Subs used, Hugh Mc Ginn (1-1), Eric Coleman, and Joseph Ryan.   

Doohamlet G.F.C. Fixtures: On Sunday the 28th of May Doohamlet G.A.A. Club will reach another milestone when we play the first match on our new playing field.  It is a great credit to all involved in any way through fundraising and to working handson on the pitch.  huge word of thanks to everyone who helped us get the pitch to the standard it is today, a lot of work done, and a lot more to do, however.  We play Sean Mc Dermott’s at 2pm in the Intermediate Football League Round 5, So come along and support the team and their first game on the new pitch.   

Doohamlet G.F.C Fixtures.  Saturday the 27th of May our U-13 team plays Aghabog Emmets (a) at 12.00pm.   

Blotto Results for the week beginning 22nd of May 2022.  The numbers drawn were 1,3,5,4,6,2,7.  There was no jackpot winner, the lucky dip winners were, Damien Malone, 3 Cois Carraig.  The Moore Family, 4 Cois Locha.  Louise Gilsenan, c/o Quinns.  Mary Rose O Connor, Killycrum.  Patrica Mc GinnityGarradevlin.  Next Week’s jackpot will be €10,000. 

 Inter-County Football: Best of luck to our senior county team and management when they play Deery on Saturday the 27th of May in Celtic Park at 7pm in the All-Ireland Senior Championship Group 4 Round 1. 

Doohamlet G.F.C. wishes the best of luck to Mattie Duffy and the County Minor team and management on Sunday the 28th of May when they play Deery at 6pm in the Ulster G.A.A final.
