Sponsor The club would like to acknowledge our ongoing main sponsor, Pete McMahon of Centra & Supervalu Castleblayney. Pete’s sponsorship is important to the club and is greatly appreciated.

Referees we are actively encouraging people who have played the game to consider taking up the referee mantle. Without referees our games cannot go ahead, it is a way of giving back to the game and indeed in staying involved with the GAA family. If you would consider taking up the challenge, contact any committee member who will ensure that you are trained and supported all the way. Give it a go!

Our Juvenile Presentation took place on Monday evening, 8th May in Iontas when all outstanding medals for 2020/2021 and 2022 were presented. It was lovely to see all the young hurlers receive their medals, with very many of them collecting 3 and 4 medals. Nine teams were honoured on the evening and all of them were congratulated not only on their skill level but also for being such excellent ambassadors for the club. Special Guest and County Captain, Niall Garland presented the medals and addressed the young people imparting some words of wisdom to them. Coaching Officer, David Connolly, ably assisted by Marisa Duffy and the coaching committee, did an excellent job of ensuring that everything ran smoothly. After acknowledging all the coaches who give so generously of their time, and thanking parents for their support, food and refreshments were enjoyed by all. Congratulations to all the members of the following teams who received their medals: U13 2020 Championship, U15 2020 Championship, U13 2021 Championship, U17 2021 Championship, U13 2022 Táin Og, U15 2022 Táin Og, U15 2022 Championship, U15 2022 League, U17 2021 Championship and U17 2022 League.

U7’s & U9’s Go Games Blayney A big well done to our young hurlers who showed great skill and enthusiasm at St. Mary’s Park on Sunday morning in the 1st Monaghan Go Games of 2023. Our U7s and U9s enjoyed the sunshine and played games against Truagh, Carrick, Inniskeen, Monaghan and East Cavan Gaels. Thanks to Castleblayney Faughs for facilitating us hosting the blitz.

Special birthday wishes go to club stalwart, Frank Marron who has a special birthday this week. Congratulations Frank, enjoy your day and I’m sure you’ll be spoiled! Its younger you’re getting!

Get Well Wishes are sent to our great juvenile supporter, Deirdre McGinn. Unlike Joe Biden, Deirdre wasn’t able to avoid a stray sliotar. Deirdre has ordered a helmet for future matches! Get well soon Deirdre.

Condolences are extended to the Forde family, Drumillard on the death of Carmel Forde’s brother, Seamus in London, RIP. He is uncle of former players, Paddy & Paul. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
