Movember Presentation
A big thanks to Martin Maguire , from the Crocus Mens Den , who presented our Movember lads with gifts on Saturday night last. The Seans Men raised almost €4000 for their efforts in November and Crocus were delighted to celebrate the success. Well done to all the Men, some of whom struggled to cultivate their facial hair but stuck at it for the duration.
Intermediate League
Round 4 of the league was a home game to , table toppers, Clones on Saturday evening. Once again we started brightly and competed for everything on the pitch, however a shamuzzle midway through the half resulted in the Seans getting a red card and reduced to fourteen. From here the battle became an invasion as Clones piled on the pressure and capitalised all over the field with the numerical advantage. Half time came with a seven point deficit and the second period would continue in the same vein as we were only feeding off scraps. Clones strengthened their lead early on and closed out the win. A second red card for us added to the wows of a difficult evening. Doohamlet are next up and will require a huge effort to get success away from home.
U18’s
The U18’s concluded their league games , away to Cremartin , last Tuesday evening. This was a ding dust affair with two teams giving it everything. It was score for score in the first half with the home team shading the lead by a point at the break. The second period resumed with the same excitement as Cremartin missed a penalty and we kept picking off the scores with every opportunity. The
hard work paid off as once we got our noses in front we held back the tide until the final whistle. On a score line 4-14 to 3-12 it rounded off a great performance against strong opposition. We now must wait on other results this week to see if there is a semi final on the horizon.
U15’s
Our U15’s had an away game against the league leaders , Killeevan, last Thursday evening. The weather was the big winner here with monsoon like conditions for much of the first half. Our lads contested everything but stopped short of getting the scores on the board to match the opposition. If effort was measured we wouldn’t have been found wanting. However, Killeevan took their chances and converted their scores. They ran out winners but what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger and the lads will regroup in preparation for the visit of Ballybay on Thursday night.
